February 27th - March 15th ⭐️💟⭐️ Women and gender-expansive artists transorm Arcata with a prism of performance, music, dance, film, and visual art for the Zero to Fierce Festival! We’re so excited to celebrate the abundance of artistry and creative spirit that is in store for our ten year anniversary. This year boasts an incredible line-up of performances, including live music by Carsie Blanton, Heather Mae, Harmonic Howl, Ruth Theodore and Katie Dahl, plus solo theater performances by Hollywood Fringe Festival award winners and renowned local artists alike, including Marissa Rutka, Veronica Osorio, Joyful Raven, Laura Muñoz, Rochee Jeffrey and many more. What happens when a loved one dies, but they won’t stop talking? Brick By Brick by Nina Rancel, Thursday March 12 at 7PM and Sunday March 15 at 2PM at the EXIT Theater - Brick by Brick is a show about building the road to one’s dreams and how to get back on it when life throws you off, despite the magnitude of the obstacles. El Mago Loco by Linzy Beltran, Friday March 13 at 8:30PM - El Mago Loco is a magician who only does what he knows: Latino magic tricks! But what happens when the audience isn’t 100% Latino? Peacock in the Rubble by Marissa Rutka, Saturday March 14 at 7PM - OCD made Marissa think her world would burn down. Then her house actually did. Did you know that there is a fierce artist award? In collaboration with the Hollywood Fringe Festival we received over 60 applications from amazing artists with inspiring solo shows eager to perform at Zero to Fierce this year. We simply couldn’t pick just one! TL Forsberg, Linzy Beltran, Nina Rancel, Veronica Osorio, and fierce award winner Marissa Rutka are all bringing their spectacular works to the festival this year. Hungry for a new perspective? Join us at the Arcata Playhouse all week from 12pm-1pm for our Zero to Fierce Lunchbox series. For only $10 you get soup, salad, a beverage, and the joys of hearing from panels of local activists, artists, and movers and shakers. Monday March 9 - Ruth Mountaingrove and the Eugene Lesbian History Project - learn the backstory to the film documentary “Outliers and Outlaws” with Kate Hitt Tuesday March 10 - Listen to The Young - A panel of local activists will gather to share perspectives on resistance during this era of revolution. Connect, unite, listen, and add depth to the community across generations. Wednesday March 11 - Ten Years Fierce - Jackie Dandeneau will be joined by a host of other artists to talk, laugh, and share stories about the past ten years of the festival, the challenges and joys of working in the arts, and what they see as the path forward Thursday March 12 - Queens on the Decks with DJ Anya and Friends - Da panel of local female club DJs finding strength and connection over the lack of female representation in the dj industry. Sharing insights in curating unique events, navigating party life vs family life and the balance of keeping creative work fun to prevent burnout. Friday March 13 - Good Fire - A Presentation on the movement to bring back good fire in our region with Margo Robbins of the Cultural Fire Management Council and Michelle Hernandez, co-artistic director of the play “Wusatoumuduk: We Make It Burn” You can reserve tickets for these events online at zerotofierce.org or you can pop in day of!

Ive been having the best time sharing shows with @katiedahlmusic and @jujuwolf_ and driving up the 101 through all the beautiful Redwood trees!. Yesterday I heard Katie's new musical in the mlaking which was so inspirational. Today we share the evening on stage at the Arcata Playhouse as part of the @zerotofierce festival. See you tonight!
