Julie Wolf
THURSDAY MARCH 5TH
Doors 7pm / Show 7:30pm
Clear-eyed and tough-minded, songwriter/playwright Katie Dahl is known for her smart songs, wry wit, and wise spirit. A small-town celebrity on the Wisconsin peninsula where her family has lived for 175 years, Katie is also an internationally touring, radio-charting artist who “delivers razor-sharp lyrics with a hearty, soulful voice” (American Songwriter). In live shows that are both courageously honest and devilishly funny, Katie dives deep into questions of land and love, family and body image, grief and joy. “In unsettled times,” says Peter Mulvey, “Katie Dahl brings us a grounded spirit.”
Julie Wolf is a music producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, music director and educator. She is part of a vibrant, far-flung creative community that includes musicians, playwrights, directors, actors, dancers, choreographers, poets, filmmakers, activists, educators and rascals.

What a year this has been, grieving the losses of my beautiful mom Betty Ann Wolf and my beloved friend/creative partner Jill Sobule…learning how to make my way in this new world without them here embodied. It’s exquisite — the pain of missing them, keeping company with the gratitude for having had them both by my side…and the grace of blooming anew, in my new form, carrying them both inside of me.
I’m so thankful. My heart is busted wide open. I sing their names. ❤️
[repost @antigonerising ] We made a record with @jillsobule - it’s the cast recording of @f_ck7thgrade and apparently it’s being considered for a Grammy nomination. It should be because Jill is a national treasure. I would say it to her face whenever I could and I’m saying it now. If you are one of the people allowed to vote on Grammy nominations, please consider our sweet dear amazingly talented friend Jill Sobule’s F7thGrade Cast Recording for Best Cast Musical whatever category. I’m going to copy and paste what @jujuwolf_ wrote because she is better at explaining. Thanks for your consideration - Cathy Pepper and the cast and crew of F7G.

It’s with a heart full of love and gratitude that I put this record forward for your GRAMMY® consideration for Best Musical Theater Album: the Original Cast Recording of F*ck7thGrade, Jill Sobule’s quirky, tender, hilarious, rocking, charming and absolutely relatable memoir musical. Jill, Kristen Ellis-Henderson, Nini Camps and I were joined by the world’s best creative team, making the production of F*ck7thGrade in our perfect home at @wildprojectnyc where we got to have 4 runs over the span of 2 years. It was magical.
Jill died tragically in May of this year. We are all heartbroken and doing our best to make sense of the world without her in it. It’s hard. I think we all thought we would grow old together making things. I feel very grateful that we were able to get this original cast recording done before she left us. You can feel her in it - her playfulness, her sense of whimsy, her intellect, her tear-your-heart-out tenderness and of course her rocking badassery. We recorded at Alex The Great in Nashville, engineered and mixed by Brad Jones with additional engineering by Robin Eaton, Nini Camps and me.
If you’re a voting member of
NARAS, please give a listen to our record and know that we would be honored to have your vote. Even if you’re not a voting member of NARAS, go listen — Jill Sobule is medicine. ❤️
