Come see/hear KHM live this Saturday night at Night in the Library, at the Brooklyn Public Library
@bplpresents . Performance: 1am (Saturday night / Sunday morning, as you wish).
KHM = a new dance and live-music collaborative project of Julian Kytasty
@juliankytasty (composition, bandura, sopilka), Oksana Horban
@oksana.horban (choreography and dance), Zenon Marko
@zenonmarko (composition, synthesis, percussion, sound processing).
KHM brings together Ukrainian traditional instruments and musical materials with contemporary synthesizers and percussion, creating a hybrid performance language that is at once ancestral and modern, immediate and kinetic, ranging in mood from subtle and lyrical to intense and driving. Traditional timbres, modal colors, and rhythmic expressions are reimagined through electronic processing, analog synthesis, pulsing rhythms, all in live sonic transformation. KHM explores the continuity across time, and universality across space, of expressive art. Culture at the same time preserves and transforms memory, honoring the past while creating the new. The result is an immersive, evocative, emotionally charged meeting point of tradition, experimentation, and expression.
