Guess who turned a year older over the weekend!
It feels so good to be celebrated especially because I was so quiet about my birthday this year.
Thank you to everyone who remembered, called, prayed, sent gifts, and made me feel so special. Every message truly warmed my heart.
And to my amazing colleagues, thank you for going all out!
This right here is what #OneSBC truly looks and feels like.
When I was a little girl, I tore up all my baby pictures.
(That’s a story for another day 😂).
So I don’t have many childhood memories in photos.
But there’s one image I can never forget…
Me, sitting right in the middle of our dining table with my tiny hands holding a big bottle of Pepsi, face tilted all the way up, drinking with pure joy.
Sundays had their rhythm too.
My sister would give me that look,
and I knew it was time to sneak out of church for our favorite combo! Hot Fresh bread, fried fish and a cold Pepsi. Wow, I miss that!
After school, I’d often be at my mum’s warehouse.
Some days I hid between crates, other days I sat out front just listening to older people gist(Lol)
I can still hear the laughter, the dramatic storytelling as the bottles rolled in and out(ps Bayelsa people tell stories in the most dramatic way) Lol
But seriously, those moments may have been some of the best memories of my childhood.
They wove Pepsi, SBC, and Nigeria right into my story.
As Nigeria grew, SBC grew and so did I.
From childhood memories to birthdays,
from small milestones to bigger ones, it was always there in plain sight.
And now, in a beautiful full-circle moment,
I stand here as part of SBC.
Not just an observer,
but right in the middle of it all, where the magic happens!
Honestly? I have come to realize that this is more than work.
It’s legacy.
It’s Nigeria’s story.
It’s SBC’s story.
And it’s my story too.
