🚨PERFORMER ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 🦾Our next artist is @zaronm 🔓♻️ Zaron Mizmeras is an artist, cyborg and long sufferer of synaesthesia, the blending of the senses. Their work seeks to illustrate and exacerbate the often frustrating experience of owning a body / soul and the implications therein. Cyborg interfaces between brainwaves and frequencies of light. Biodata manifestating as colour and sound. An Exocision of energy. In this performance Zaron will attempt to control and externalise their own bio-data. This will be achieved through the use of a brain-computer interface and a circuit that detects stress response through the skin, outputting this biological data as midi notes. These are then interpreted by software that each turn this data into sounds and colours. Through bypassing the body an intention is created to communicate internal thoughts in a way that is equally felt by an external audience. ⚠️Please be warned this performance contains heavy strobing and may not be suitable for those with epilepsy or a low threshold for sensory input. Such a special occasion being able to provide others with elements of previous iterations of the festival that I have enjoyed so much! We will use practical tools to navigate sleeping and waking states, and discover how dreaming can relax, inspire and connect us. Together we will explore creative practices to facilitate a better understanding of our dreaming and waking life and learn how to use the richness of our dreams to enhance creativity and navigate our inner/ outer worlds. What to expect: The workshop is 3 hours long, and will include individual, paired and group activities. All the explorations are invitations. You can participate as much or as little as you like. The aim is to relax, meet folk and be inspired. Together, we will: Immerse ourselves in multisensory dream-worlds and understand how to use what we find. Explore our voices, movement and dreams to create improvised music (Inspired by composers Pauline Oliveros and IONE) Learn about travelling between sleeping and waking states.
