Such a small world working with this gem of a human @zander_raphael who performed when I was producing @thebacchanalla years ago (which I’ve been thinking about bringing back…stay tuned).
There is so much sadness and loss and destruction right now that it’s difficult to stay “positive”. But I am so grateful to be in a community of people that are harbingers of joy, art and beauty. To my fellow theater people, burlesque community, raver/electronic music DJ and dance community, actors, dancers, musicians, artists, enthusiasts…basically everyone who comes together to create rather than destroy. I love you and wouldn’t be able to get through this rough patch without all of you.

Shannon, Zander, and I all handle creepy objects in our shows.
In Gilded Spindle, the puppet is the Rumpelstiltskin of folklore, who wants to take the protagonist’s child as compensation for spinning straw into gold.
In La Mano Del Mono, the monkey’s paw…is actually a good thing. It allows the main characters to wish for $20,000. No way that could end up harming the protagonist’s child…right? 😳

It’s been a thrill to sink my hands back into the art of puppetry! 🤹♀️🎭
This month I’ve been performing in an adult 30 minute adaptation of Rumpelstiltskin called Gilded Spindle. The play has a wonderful cast of five: 4 humans and then me voicing & puppeteering Rumpelstiltskin! (A terrific full-body puppet designed by @wyndwolfpuppets who also wrote & directed the show! 😍)
“With a love for creature acting, puppetry and the macabre, portraying the joyfully wicked fae Rumpelstiltskin has been a thrill! I disappear inside him to explore power, pleasure and mischief ~ inviting the audience to laugh, squirm and lean closer to the danger…” ⚠️😈🧌
