I’ve been itching to share this one for a while. I had the privilege of writing, directing, and producing this piece for the @tanner.health oncology campaign. My teammates at Tanner were incredible, stepping into production roles they’d never touched before and absolutely crushing it. Huge thanks to @im.ag for making this video look beautiful and for elevating the story beyond what I imagined. @britnir84 and @thedanielscott7 truly shined and helped ground this spot in a reality far too many people have to face. And to the entire crew, thank you for the hard work, positive energy, and great attitude throughout the shoot. I had the pleasure of directing this commercial in Jackson Mississippi last month. It’s all the sweeter when doing what I love also makes a positive impact on people’s lives. #govote • • • #VideoProducer #CommercialDirector #FairCount #JacksonMississippi

With 2025 coming to a close, I find I a ton of gratitude for the year. Not to say there weren’t set backs or hardships, but more so to focus on the positive things that happened. 2026 is already shaping up to be just as exciting as I embark on a new creative journey. Checkout my YouTube channel linked in my bio for the full video.

I keep revisiting these photos just to remind myself this is real. Fourteen years chasing the goal of earning a black belt-only to realize a few years ago that a black belt isn’t a finish line. It’s just a mile marker. Still, that realization doesn’t take away the euphoria. I stayed the course through every season of life, through setbacks, doubts, and challenges (and there were plenty), and reached a goal that so few Jiu-Jitsu practitioners ever do. Thank you, @brunofrazattojj , for believing in me and for honoring me with a black belt. Your passion for this art, your students, and your academy is something I deeply respect and am grateful to be part of. And thank you, @ragin.jason and @phillipthomasbjj , for being more than training partners—true friends. More times than you know, our friendship is what brought me back to the mats when every part of me wanted to walk away. The journey continues. šŸ„‹

It’s been 9 years since I last competed, and I was losing before I even showed up. This might be the latest post-tournament post in Jiu-Jitsu history, but here we are. I took 2nd at a recent IBJJF tournament, and yeah, I’m proud of that—but that’s not really the story. Right before the tournament, I went on vacation. Came home with two weeks to prepare… and a cold. I trained three times total. Not an excuse—just the state of mind. I genuinely believed I had zero chance of beating anyone and that I’d get smashed in my first match. I kept telling myself to ā€œhave fun,ā€ but I’m a competitive person. I knew I was lying. My last day of training was brutal. I felt weak, tired, and everyone got the better of me. One of my teammates noticed. During our final round, he pushed me hard—telling me to keep moving, not letting me fold, forcing me to fight when all I wanted was to melt into the mats. Afterward he said, ā€œThat’s the pace you need in competition—pressure and constant attack.ā€ I already knew that. But then he added, ā€œI believe in you, bro.ā€ And I thought ā€œYou believe in me? I don’t even believe in myself.ā€ My eyes started welling up—so I shook his hand and walked off before anyone noticed, because… ā€œmen don’t cry,ā€ and all that bullshit. But that one sentence flipped my mindset. I went from defeated to feeling like I owed it to my team - and myself - to show up and fight. Accepting defeat before stepping on the mat wasn’t an option anymore. Fourteen, maybe fifteen years into Jiu-Jitsu, and it still finds new ways to teach me something real. Shout out to all my @atosatl teammates for pushing me everyday to get better. Thanks @brunofrazattojj for the great leadership and @aenriquez218 for coaching me during my matches. And thank you @wendersonpinto26 for the words that I didn’t know I needed to hear. #atlantaopen #jiujitsucompetition #atos #atosatlanta #atlantabjj #atlantajiujitsu

A few photos from Japan. What an experience! Post-Japan blues is real. The culture, the temples and shrines, the food, the people, all of it was far better than I anticipated. I knew I would enjoy this trip, I didn’t know I would immediately want to go back. • • • #japantrip2025 #japantrip #japanstreets #tokyostreetphotography #osaka #kyoto

Thank you to Professor Takasama Watanabe for welcoming to his academy, @axis_jj_team . This trip has been amazing for so many reasons but being able to add training jiujitsu to the list makes it all the more special. #TokyoBjj #AxisJJ #TokyoJiujitsu TokyoJJ #BjjAbroad

ā€œA society grows great when men plant trees the shade of which they know they will never sit underā€. Martial arts have always been a part of my life, the little white kid in this photo is me. The man I’m latching onto is Master Rubinoff Robinson. I went down a rabbit hole a few nights ago and stumbled upon this article from the Miami Herald. Master Robinson taught Tae Kwon Do to innercity youth at Soar Park, right down the street from Larchmont Gardens, the projects I grew up in. He never charged us for the classes, and he fronted the bill for all of our gear, trips to competitions, and sometimes even our uniforms. At the point of this photo, he had lost $20,000 funding this program, and I’m certain he would go on to lose a lot more as time passed. If not for his sacrifice, I never would have seen college as an option. I wouldn’t have learned the power of discipline, hard work, and commitment. I never would have believed that I, could be so much more. He gave selflessly, and he planted trees that would provide shade for generations. I’m proud to be one of those trees. #rolemodel #tkd #taekwondo #martialarts #larchmont
