From the truck
You spend a lotta time bumping around in a pickup—bakkie—when you’re looking for plants in ZA. It’s usually a good time to catch a little nap, or snack on some food, before you’re hunched over again looking for tiny mesembs, or staring up huge aloes.
I love it—it’s a time to reflect, feel the breeze and think about how you were born way too late to be a botanical-beat. With all that said, it can also drag, but that feeling of c’mon, c’mon, quickly drifts aways when the scenery looks like it does in Namaqualand/Ritchersveld/Bushmanland.
