Now on view at HVW8 Berlin
Isaac Zavale - Siyazamazama
Linienstraße 161, 10115 Berlin
August 8 - September 20, 2025
Open Wednesday to Saturday, 14:00–19:00
“Siyazamazama,” a Zulu word meaning “we are trying” or “we are struggling,” is the heart of this exhibition. Born in Mozambique, raised in Johannesburg, and now based in Berlin, Zavale explores layered identity and the negotiation of self within global systems often indifferent to African existence.
A New Chapter: A Space for Artists to Shine
We’re super excited to announce the launch of our newest ART platform.
We truly believe creatives should be here to support one another. That’s why we started looking for ways to use our platform to shine a spotlight on artists we genuinely love and admire.
This sparked the idea to feature and sell the work of these creatives on our website alongside our own collection.
If you visit our website, you’ll now find a new art tab where all of this work is available.
We hope you’re just as excited about this as we are. And this is only the beginning we’ll be expanding this project even further in the coming months.
Take a first look at these incredibly talented artists joining us:

Inspired by how equality should be like in South Africa, since there is a huge gap between Black and White South Africans. Maybe one day tables will turn …
