It took almost 10 years for me to create my studio. Those years were -and still are- filled with research, learning, practice, unlearning, connecting with others. Creating clothes & accessories was my dream since I was 11 but life had different expectations of me so I kept my dream on the side as a beautiful hobby while studying and working on more “serious” stuff. Sometimes I think maybe this is what allowed my practice to go deeper and so I’m grateful for all these years where I would go to fashion classes and complete my sewing projects after my white collar job.
This is the first year of life for Yphasma Studio and for me as a full time designer and I still can’t believe all the magic I have experienced because of this decision I took 10 months ago to quit everything else and pour my soul, my time and my energy into my craft. And now it gets to exist beyond me.
