Billie Eilish and Finneas for the cover of The Envelope magazine. Pretty stoked about this shoot, only having limited time with them, shot in studio on @schmidlibackdrops before they left for their current tour.
I showed Billie a video my daughter recorded on my phone saying she was a big fan, and I was sent home with a little gift (on the last slide) 😊
Another great assignment by @calagot and thank you @nebraskamanlighting for the lighting gear and assist.

Adri and Knox on 8x10. Focus was on Adri, with a tiny bit of swing to get the good boy Knox sharp too. There’s a small silver reflector leaning on my backpack off camera bouncing the sun to get more exposure on Adri’s face. Very happy with this shot. Shot on a 300mm wide open at f5.6

Our boy turned 4 today. Birthday celebrations are a little different this year. We’re still not in our Altadena home, we’ve run into greedy landlords, our current rental needs repairs, so lately we’ve been bouncing around places trying to make it all work.
But all that noise can wait because today we’re celebrating this kid and doing everything to make it still feel special…even if it’s at a random AirBnB. Happy birthday bud, we love you.

Big fan of @shengwangtime Sheng Wang! He closed out the show last night in Altadena. I got to hang backstage and talk about why the town is so special. Definitely a highlight of the week. Thank you @netflixisajoke for putting on an event for the community and @netlfix for the call to shoot!
Check out his special “Purple” on Netflix now!

Waleed and Erin, with their kids on the day they moved back into their home. The house still needs some work to complete but they are able to sleep in their beds for the first time since the fire #altadena #eatonfire #beautifulaltadena

Day one of the rebuild, a huge milestone! Crazy to think that the kids were 7 and 2 years old when we evacuated. They’ll be 9 and 4 when we return #altadena

#AFInterview: Marcus Ubungen (@yourpalmarcus )
In the wake of the Altadena fires, Marcus Ubungen chose the weight and patience of large format, an approach increasingly uncommon amid digital urgency.
“I wanted every shot to be intentional and calculated,” he reflects, “and that slow process allowed me to sit with the landscape for long periods of time and wait for the light to be right.”
In this interview, Ubungen reflects on the night of evacuation, the shock of returning to find his home gone, and the instinct that led him to photograph Altadena in the months that followed, a reminder that photography’s greatest strength lies in its ability to preserve the fragile space between catastrophe and memory.
