New work for Phish! This one was a little different than normal because I was brought on to illustrate and layout the typography to go along with this kickass castle illustration by Sam Taylor. Sometimes it can be hard melding your work with another person’s, but this one came together really smoothly and I think it turned out pretty seamless. It was a fun project and I’m glad to have gotten to be a part of Phish’s run at Sphere. Just look at how nuts that castle illustration looks on the last slide. Pretty wild. Also, I don’t have a clear photo of it, but a buddy that was there said one of my posters from an MSG show back in 2017 was used at some point in the night too, which is rad. Thanks as always to art director extraordinaire @juliamordaunt for bringing me onboard. Hope you are all having a blast in Vegas and if anyone wants one of the shirts, you can pre-order them in Phish’s store. See you soon. @phish @phishdrygoods @sptsam @spherevegas #phish #phishshirts #merchdesigns #handmadetype #illustration

Puscifer APs will be available in my webstore at 1pm EST today (March 23rd). I have 50 regular edition and 25 rainbow foil editions available. From what I’ve heard, these sold out at the show, so if you wanted one and didn’t get a chance to snag one the other night, now’s your chance. Just follow the link in my bio. Thanks in advance to everyone that picks one up, I appreciate you all! Be good and maybe I’ll see some of you at 1! @puscifer @themerchcollective #puscifer #maynardjameskeenan #normalisnt #gigposter #posterdrop

More work! Puscifer is back with a new tour that kicked off in Las Vegas last night and I was lucky enough to get asked to create the poster for the launch. If you missed out on grabbing one, my AP Editions will be available in my store Monday at 1pm EST. 50 regular edition and 25 foil. Link in bio. Thanks to TMC for the gig and to Vahalla for the killer print work. Nerd Zone: The creative brief was short this time around, the only request being to incorporate fire into the design in some way. My first thought was a Rosemary's Baby style devil baby, probably because I watch way too much Occult / Folk horror. After looking at the promo photos for this tour, I knew I also wanted to incorporate the skull that Carina and Maynard are holding in most of them, so that became the baby's head. I also really like the look of the leather gloves that she's been wearing, so that (along with a dash of HR Giger's Xenomorph designs) inspired the look of the baby's body and the way the skin looks like it has a smooth, reflective texture to it. The lettering & border were pulled from vintage matchbooks & menus from Vegas Casinos. Back when I was in touring hardcore bands, we couldn't ever afford to go gamble, but we would find cheap breakfast buffets in the early morning and gorge ourselves before rolling out of town to the next show. I was telling my son about that and he came up with the idea of having the devil baby in a fertilized egg, which I dug. It was way better / weirder than my original idea of just having it in some poor woman's womb. The baby rattle was a spot where I wanted to work in a small reference to some of my favorite cartoonists. I liked the idea of the baby devil's toy being a little god rattle and Allred / Clowes / Burns (and I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting) all have representations of god / gods in their comics as these creatures with either one giant eye (or in the case of Madman's Thad Reno, a dozen eyes). So that's my nod to them. You can see all of these influences in the mood board that I put together to send off to the band along with my sketches. Hope everyone had fun at the show, and thanks for checking the poster out. Be good!

My first poster of the year is a new one for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong's run in Pittsburgh this past weekend. I'd had this sketch of a cowboy that'd been twisted around at the waist (almost like someone yelled "draw" from behind them and their top half spun around, but the bottom half didn't) and it'd been sitting in one of my sketchbooks collecting dust for a while. I liked the goofy, sorta early MAD Magazine feel that it had (maybe a touch of Spy vs Spy energy too), but I never had a good fit for it. When I knew the gig I was going to be working on was for the band's Pittsburgh shows, one of the first things I thought of were all of the trains and tunnels around the city and that gave me the idea to use my cowboy as a bandit train robber. Unfortunately for them, it's Feb in Pennsylvania, so they froze in the snow before they could make it to the train. Over the summer I took a trip to the city to see The Flaming Lips with my family and learned that Pittsburgh was one of the first manufacturers of chewing gum in early 1900's and that it had a signature pink color (Teaberry Gum I think), so I thought it'd be fun to have them shooting gumballs with a slingshot (instead of having a gun) and also have a bubble frozen as it was being blown, just for a little extra absurdity. There are a few other nods to the city in there, like maybe a certain color scheme and accessory that sort of makes him look like a pirate? I have a very small amount of AP's (10 reg / 10 foil) and will have them for sale in my store Wednesday at 1:30 EST. Just follow the link in my bio. Thanks to the folks over at @themerchcollective for bringing me on board. @native_screenprintco handled the printing duties on this one and they came out great. Hope everyone that was at the show had a blast and maybe I'll see some of you on Wednesday. As usual, I was terrible about posting non gig poster work last year, so I’m going to try and play catch up on that over the next few weeks because there were a lot of super fun projects that I got to work on. First up is the new (double?) EP from Cosmic Joke “Forced Perspective.” I’m not even sure how many times I’ve worked with the band now between merch designs / album packaging / random things / etc, but I always look forward to it. This one went down a few weird and totally different paths before Mac threw out the idea of an ant farm, which then led to the idea of making it look like a board game from the 60’s. I had a ton of fun with the cover illustration and got back to playing around with layers of gouache, watercolors washes and colored pencil underneath my inked keyline art. It’s not something that I can really use for my gig poster work (because of the printing method, but mostly the amount of time it takes) and is something I have to reserve for straight illustration and design work. I threw some process shots in so you can flip through the layers and see how it evolves through the different stages. Thanks to Cosmic Joke, Hardlore Records, Triple B Records and the Miller Bros for taking me along for another ride, looking forward to the next go around. You can grab a copy straight from the band at their shows, go online and order one directly from the labels or go into your local record shop and ask them to order a copy for you. It’s also streaming on all of your favorite platforms. No matter how you listen to it, play it loud! @cosmicjokela @hardlorepod @triplebrecords @morganmiller @macxmiller

New work for Modest Mouse! This show was back in Oct, but there was a little delay with my APs, so I didn’t want to post about it until I had them in hand. This was my fourth time working with the band and I got to revisit a character that I keep tweaking and playing around with and I think this is going to be its final form. I like this one. Posters are live in my store and if you buy one, you can get any of my Modest Mouse posters from last year for 50% off as part of my end of the year sale. Looking forward to working with them some more in 2026 and if you were at the Brooklyn show, hope you had a blast. Be good! @modestmouse #modestmouse #modestmouseposter #gigposter #screenprint

Hey Everyone! So, it was brought to my attention that Mystery Tube orders were being charged $27 for shipping. I switched to heavier duty tubes earlier this year and didn't realize that the extra weight of the tube would kick an order with three posters into a different shipping tier. So, if you've already ordered one, I refunded you the difference. Because of my slip up (and because of some other craziness around here), I'm extending my Mystery Tube Sale and all other Cyber Week Sales through noon EST tomorrow, Friday the 12th. After that I'll be closing up the store for the year, and getting all orders packed and off to the Post Office. The shipping issue has been fixed, so everything should be good to go. Remember to leave any suggestions in the notes of your order and I'll do my best (and remember the sale only applies to 18" x 24" posters, not any of my 24" x 36" prints). Thanks again to everyone that's picked something up from the store this year, truly appreciate it. Be good!

Cyber Week Sale! I’m going to be closing my store early this year because I’ll be out of town for the holidays, so from now until next Tuesday will be your last chance to snag something if there’s something you’ve had your eye on. Mystery Tubes are back! 3 posters for $75! Some rare, some rare but slightly dinged, some from 2025, but mostly from 2024 and earlier. I have 25 available and if you buy one, leave me a list of the type of bands you like in the notes. I can’t promise you’ll get everything, but at least I’ll have an idea of what you’re after and I’ll do my best. Also, because of shipping / max amount of room in a tube, Mystery Tubes have to be purchased one at a time on their own. So if you want a mystery tube and another poster, you have to place two separate orders. There’s also a deal on Sessanta posters: buy any Sessanta poster from this year or last and get 30% off any Primus or Puscifer print. And for the Modest Mouse lovers out there: buy any 2025 MM poster and get 50% off any of my 2024 MM posters. I might throw one more deal in towards the end of the week, but I’m not sure yet. Also, thank you to everyone that bought a My Morning Jacket and David Byrne poster. Byrne’s are sold out, but there are still 10 or so of the MMJ posters left. To everyone that’s reached out about my Secret Lair cards: my artist copies are in, prints are being made, I’m just trying to figure out what the best way to sell them is. Stay tuned for more on that as I figure it out. Hope you all had a good Turkey Day and thanks in advance to anyone that picks up a print. Once the store closes at 12pm EST next Tuesday, all orders will be processed and in the mail by Friday the 12th, so you should all get them before the holiday. Take care and Be good! #mysterytube #mysterytubesale #gigposter #gigposters

New work for Secret Lair! At the risk of sounding stupid, this is not a RPG, but a strategic card game that is a sub sect of Magic the Gathering. I think I got that correct, but obviously it’s not my world, so if I got anything wrong, let me know. Either way, it’s always exciting getting to work in an area you haven’t before, and this is one of them for me. I had a blast on it, they were great to collaborate with and the fans have been very welcoming to someone outside of their world. After looking through their past releases, Secret Lair has had a lot of great artists ranging from @thebirdmachine to @jimwoodringcartoonist , so it’s been an honor to be in the company of artists that have been such a big influence on me. I’ve included some process shots of the original artwork (before I went to town texturing it with @truegrittexturesupply brushes), as well as some images I’ve found of the foil versions online. My copies are on their way and I’m excited to see them in person. I’m not sure how I’m going to release my copies yet (but I’ll send out an email to my mailing list once I do), and am also debating whether there would be any interest in some screenprints of the card artwork. If that’s something that sounds cool to the fans, let me know in the comments. Thank you to @jacobbcoveyy for bringing me on for this project (and putting up with a healthy amount of comic questions). I had a lot of fun with this one and am looking forward to more in the future, be good everyone! @mtgsecretlair @magicthegathering #secretlair #secretlairdrop #illustration #brainfreeze

Hey everyone, we’ve got some good news: The Bluette Ep is officially out and available on all streaming platforms via Harvest Sum Recordings and Record Beach! Links are in our bio. Credits: Ray Fulton - guitar / vocals / percussion / glockenspiel Dave Calos - guitar / vocals Ryan Besch - bass, guitar Evan Wachowski - drums / percussion on Bluette and Just Anyone Justin Pizzoferrato - additional guitar on Just Anyone Sadie Dupuis - additional engineering and backing vocals on Bluette and Just Anyone Bluette and Just Anyone Engineered by John Angelo at Big Blue Mixed by Justin Pizzoferrato at Sonelab Cloud Pleaser (float slow version) Engineered and mixed by Mark Nosowicz at Harvest Studio Down and Down About It (demo) Recorded at Home(s) on phones, in bathrooms and a 4 track Mastered by Justin Pizzoferrato at Sonelab Now for the bad news: unfortunately, no matter how far (like really far) in advance you plan for things, sometimes they just don’t happen for reasons out of your control. So it pains us to say it, but we will not have copies of the 7” for the show tomorrow. We’re still gonna have a ton of fun and can’t wait to play with all of our friends in Personal Style, Uniform Operator and Headbutt, we just won’t have any records. So, as a Plan B, we’ve put the 7”s up for pre-order if anyone wants to snag one that way for now. There’s an option to grab just the record or a bundle with a new shirt design based on the 7” artwork. The records have been in production for quite a while, so the wait shouldn’t be too long. The other option is to wait until our next show to grab one in person, but that won’t be until February. Hope we see you all at Milkie’s tomorrow, it’s going to be a great night.
