RIBA Film Competition 2026.
The competition is open internationally to those studying for, or in between, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 or equivalent.
The submission deadline is Thursday 25 June 2026, 2pm.
There is a prize of £250 for the winning film, £125 prizes for two runners-up, and the shortlist will be showcased on RIBAJ.com.

“A retrofit design project exploring the use of CNC cutting to build structures for the local community of Anfield.
Using inspiration and cutting files from the company ‘Wikihouse’, I designed a workshop for members of the public to come and design their own CNC structures.
Cheaper than traditional building methods, creating spaces through CNC design gives people the chance to improve their neighbourhood, as well as creating a sense of community through the teamwork of building.”

Excited to feature Architecture student @archiwithsaff and her project Archway Markets.
This project explores a timber intervention within a historic ruin in Liverpool, shaped through model making and site analysis. The design responds to the existing arches, introducing a timber structure with a glazed canopy. Beneath, a flexible market space, activated by natural light during the day and suspended lighting at night.

“Spirit of the Land” is a Qatar Pavilion proposal for the 2027 Horticultural Expo in Yokohama, developed for the Doha Design District Student competition.
Rooted in Msheireb’s architectural principles, the project harmonises tradition with modern sustainability.
It offers an immersive journey through Qatar’s desert and coastal landscapes, utilising sensory exhibitions to showcase cultural heritage and innovative environmental solutions for arid climates.
