My body still hurts but my heart is bursting with joy & pride from the Woodstock weekend. An ultramarathon was never on my bucket list (then again, neither was a marathon) but do what scares you, right? When
@kortnee_b told me about
@xcrossinglinesx and the plan to get more BIPOC folks and women to the start line of ultramarathon and trail races, I knew I had to consider it at least. Then they recruited Coach
@ninasieh , and it was time to get to work. Like most things in life, it’s about the people, and seeing friends from different countries convene in Michigan to race and vibe out made all the pain and hard work worth it. Not to mention, we had something like 12 podium finishers, including most of the women in our crew. What an honour it is to roll with such heavy hitters!
If you build it, they will come. Well done to the
@xcrossinglinesx homies for getting us together for an unforgettable weekend. I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it. Thanks to everyone who shared miles with me this past training block &
@parkdaleroadrunners fam, especially those who were game to run hills
@zanmango @_theresapham The elevation at Woodstock was no joke! Being able to run is such a privilege considering the many barriers to the sport. I’m thankful for all the support, encouragement, knowledge-sharing, and laughs along the way. 🫰🏼#trailrunning #womenrunning #ultramaraton #weouthere #bipocrunners
