Nico, a young undocumented immigrant, is directing a music video for an indie artist in Los Angeles when he gets a call that could change everything: an offer to direct a high-profile artist in Mexico. It’s the kind of opportunity that could transform his career, but taking it means leaving his family and community behind.
Set over the course of a single night, ALAS (Wings) unfolds as Nico grapples with the tension between ambition and belonging. Surrounded by friends and family, he confronts what it truly means to chase your dreams when the cost is leaving everything and everyone he loves behind.
