<//3333 <3333 I’ve been wanting to share this video for a very long time and here it is. Me singing “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” written by Anne Brendon in the late ‘50s and made famous by Led Zeppelin. Joan Baez learned the song from hearing it played live by different people and she sings a beautiful haunting version of it. <33333 I was influenced by Robert Plant’s version in Led Zeppelin and Joan Baez’s version <333. <33333 <33333 <3333 <3333. This video was made for my SMC virtual guitar class and I sang it for extra credit. I miss playing guitar and I miss singing - and I miss doing them both at the same time. Please make me pick up the guitar gain - I’ve been missing it and love it and never thought I’d be able to pick up anything on it let alone a song I love so much. I honestly just forget that playing guitar is what I really want to do - so literally I am asking you as Bernie Sanders did to make me remember. <3333 I’m finally sharing this because I was so moved by the two amazing touching films King Creole and Young Man with a Horn that I saw last night at the Noir City Film Festival held at the Egyptian Theater with American Cinematheque. King Creole stars Elvis Presley in his only dramatic role - and was his last film shot before being drafted in the army. Knowing the Hell and tragedy Elvis went through with having his loyalty and love of music controlled and manipulated in real life by colonel parker - leading to him never getting to perform out of the United States makes this all the more a heart wrenching watch. Kirk Douglas stars in Young Man with a Horn and his character’s trumpeteer mentor Art played by Juan Hernandez and my God how tragic this relationship is. Seeing Black people on screen and in major drama roles as one of the main cast in classic films is already full of so emotion in the pride I feel for them and their representation. See these films!!
