German-Taiwanese violist Yi-Te Yang is Assistant Principal Viola of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and is regularly invited as Guest Co-Principal by leading German orchestras, including the Bavarian Radio Symphony, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Hamburg Philharmonic, and Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. She has also performed with the Munich Philharmonic, the Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Berlin Philharmonic.
As a soloist, she has appeared with the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim, the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester Mannheim, and the Orchester Philharmonie Baden-Baden.
Chamber music is close to her heart, and she has shared the stage with artists such as Vadim Gluzman, Boris Garlitsky, Garth Knox, Zvi Plesser, the Lux Piano Trio, and the Artis Quartet, with festival appearances at the Verbier Festival Academy, Open Chamber Music at Prussia Cove, and the Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker.
Trained at the University of the Arts Berlin with Prof. Hartmut Rohde and in Oslo with Prof. Lars Anders Tomter, Yi-Te is passionate about creating meaningful musical moments on stage. For her, music is not only about excellence but also about joy, curiosity, and the connections it builds with others.
