This short film explores the authenticity of the digital world, focusing on digital identity, artificial intelligence, and the microstructure of existence. Divided into two chapters—Perception and Existence—the film reflects my evolving thoughts on these topics.
“In Perception, I portray AI as a partner in shaping digital identities. Through the creation of 20 digital characters, AI analyzes their attributes, gives them voices, and creates their stories, prompting reflection on the authenticity of both digital and human identities.
The Existence chapter extends this curiosity into quantum physics, drawing parallels between the digital world and the microscopic structure of reality. By examining how AI reconstructs the world through elements like voxels and point clouds, I question whether the digital realm might be another form of reality.
Ultimately, the film reflects on the blurred boundaries between reality and the virtual, guided by the central question: What is the probability that we live in reality?”
“I used a series of software such as Blender, C4D, Unreal Engine, etc. to make this film. I took a motion capture workshop in the first semester, which provided technical support for my subsequent character production.”
The film was shown on July 19th, at the RCA Fashion EXPO graduation show.
