Yfoundations is a proud supporter of the Home Time Campaign and we welcome the announcement from the Federal Government and from Clare O'Neil. This Budget marks an incredible win for young people across Australia. Home Time has been driven by the experiences of young people and organisations like Yfoundations who will keep advocating for children and young people experiencing homelessness. This is a huge step toward a fairer, more equitable housing system, one that recognises young people’s needs and gives them the safety and stability they deserve. Find out more on the Home Time website: .au Today, we’re celebrating this moment with the thousands of young people, advocates and organisations who made this possible. hashtag#HomeTime hashtag#FixHousingForYoungPeople

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2026 a huge success. YHMD raises awareness about youth homelessness to ensure the issues and realities of young people experiencing and at risk of homelessness remain high on the public agenda. This only happens with the support of people like you and organisations like yours. Thank you from Yfoundations and the 43,000 children and young people who reach out to homelessness services every year. yhmd.org.au

Yesterday was Youth Homelessness Matters Day. Like many people right now, our team feels the weight of a difficult world with cost‑of‑living pressures, instability, and uncertainty about what comes next. But one thing is clear to us: young people don’t choose homelessness. Every day, we choose to stand up for them. We’ve chosen work that’s unlikely to make us wealthy, but allows us to be part of change, because we believe, deeply, that every young person deserves a safe home, dignity and support. When we say youth homelessness matters, we mean it. Not just because it’s our job, but because we know it’s not young people’s fault, and they deserve so much better. To support YHMD we’re joining with our sector colleagues to ask that you: 🧡 Educate – by sharing and amplifying YHMD messaging 🧡 Donate – to youth homelessness services 🧡 Advocate – by contacting your local member of parliament @yfoundations @yhmday @propertyindustryfoundation #YHMD #YouthHomelessnessMatters #EveryYoungPersonDeservesAHome

Across Australia, nearly 43,000 children and young people presented on their own to homelessness services. Half of them are turned away because services aren’t sufficiently funded to accommodate them. Share the reality of youth homelessness and help create a safe place for every young Australian. End youth homelessness. yhmd.org.au

Youth homelessness is the reality nobody’s watching. Last year nearly 43,000 children and young people presented alone to specialist homelessness services. Young people experience homelessness for a variety of reasons but the majority have been exposed to domestic and family violence and have experienced family breakdown. There is an affordable housing crisis in Australia – 0% of private rentals are affordable to anyone on a youth allowance. Share the reality of youth homelessness and help create a safe place for every young Australian. End youth homelessness. yhmd.org.au

Youth homelessness services can’t keep up with the demand for beds. Housing is only a part of the solution. Funding to provide the wrap around services necessary to support young people and to help them thrive must increase in line with inflation and the spirally costs of service provision. Youth Homelessness Matters Day is tomorrow (April 15). Show your support by sharing messages and content, hosting and attending YHMD events, donating to services and advocating to end child and youth homelessness. Educate. Activate. Donate. Advocate. End youth homelessness. yhmd.org.au
