Yfoundations is a proud supporter of the Home Time Campaign and we welcome the announcement from the Federal Government and from Clare O'Neil.
This Budget marks an incredible win for young people across Australia.
Home Time has been driven by the experiences of young people and organisations like Yfoundations who will keep advocating for children and young people experiencing homelessness.
This is a huge step toward a fairer, more equitable housing system, one that recognises young people’s needs and gives them the safety and stability they deserve.

Today, we’re celebrating this moment with the thousands of young people, advocates and organisations who made this possible. #HomeTime hashtag#FixHousingForYoungPeople
A massive thank you to everyone who helped make Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2026 a huge success.
YHMD raises awareness about youth homelessness to ensure the issues and realities of young people experiencing and at risk of homelessness remain high on the public agenda.
This only happens with the support of people like you and organisations like yours.
Thank you from Yfoundations and the 43,000 children and young people who reach out to homelessness services every year.

Yesterday was Youth Homelessness Matters Day.
Like many people right now, our team feels the weight of a difficult world with cost‑of‑living pressures, instability, and uncertainty about what comes next.
But one thing is clear to us: young people don’t choose homelessness.
Every day, we choose to stand up for them.
We’ve chosen work that’s unlikely to make us wealthy, but allows us to be part of change, because we believe, deeply, that every young person deserves a safe home, dignity and support.
When we say youth homelessness matters, we mean it. Not just because it’s our job, but because we know it’s not young people’s fault, and they deserve so much better.
To support YHMD we’re joining with our sector colleagues to ask that you:
🧡 Educate – by sharing and amplifying YHMD messaging
🧡 Donate – to youth homelessness services
🧡 Advocate – by contacting your local member of parliament

309 too many 💔
Of more concern is the 2 in 3 people who seek crisis accommodation that we have no choice but to turn away because we simply do not have the room.
This is the heartbreaking reality as demand increases and resources continue to be limited.
Today, on Youth Homelessness Matters Day, join us and @yfoundations on a call for action.
🚩 We are in crisis. We need help to keep our community safe.

Young people who have experienced homelessness are truly extraordinary. They are strong and resilient and shouldn't be defined by their past situation.
'I Am' was produced by Yfoundations' 2025 Youth Homelessness Representative Council and gives this group of incredible young people a platform to show what all young people can achieve when they are in an environment that allows them to thrive.
Youth Homelessness Matters Day is Wednesday, April 15. Share YHMD messages and content (including I Am) and help shine a light on the reality of youth homelessness.
