We Made a Film!!!
Last Xmas I was fortunate enough to spend my holidays in my hometown, local village, Otollo Nnewi gon gon. It’s my home. Both my mother and father were raised there. I can throw a stone anywhere, and it will land at least metres from a family member or a family friend. A feeling of safety I rarely experience in Babylonia!
Sat in my mother’s village house, writing in the kitchen, Vivian, working as xmas-time house help, saw me clacking away on my laptop and immediately told me she, too, is a writer. I asked her to show me something, and she immediately presented a cute notepad with a handwritten script.
‘LET'S FILM IT!’
I can't lie, God was on my side with this one.
Vivian showed so much grace and maturity on camera. Didn’t need any coaching. She had a vision in her head, and I could see her sticking to it. She really does this, guys!
Large up
Joseph Effiong, who acted in this - he was employed as the security guard over the holidays and kept us all safe.
Ndubuisi Uyoo, who was working as a builder, took some time out to play a vital character in the film.
