Hair is often metaphorically represented as a crown. Culturally it can symbolise authority, pride and self-expression.
Focusing visually on movement and contrast, we wanted to create powerful images that placed Nyela’s natural hair within an editorial space where it has historically been absent. This collaboration finds balance between my visual approach and Nyela’s presence as a model to refine the narrative
