God has truly redeemed my story in ways I could never have imagined. Out of seasons of hardship, He brought me the most incredible man and the greatest gift of all, marriage that reflects His goodness and grace. It was just us, on a mountain. Simple, sacred, and exactly how it was meant to be. As a wedding photographer who has spent so much time capturing love stories in the mountains, it felt so perfect that my own story would be written there too. We are so thankful for every person who poured their heart into this day. My dear friend, Arina with @arinabphotog , flew all the way from California to capture our memories so beautifully. My dress, designed by @dreamdressesbypmn , felt like a dream come to life. Hair and makeup were done by the talented Katie with @katieboyarartistry , who made me feel radiant. The beautiful florals, crafted with so much love by Jo of @yellowfirefly , once my client and now such a treasured friend, were more than I ever hoped for. More than anything, we just want to thank God for His faithfulness. This marriage is our miracle, our blessing, our new beginning. We wanted it to look like our couple was wandering in a floral meadow and strategically narrow the visual field of view of the staircase. This venue was so gorgeous and the perfect backdrop for our floral design. Good floral design is all about observing the environment and thinking about how your investment your big day come together. For Katie. This modern bouquet style was designed with you and your vision in mind. You wanted a modern linear “not your everyday wedding” bouquet to match the stunning dress with lace and ribbon sleeve details. Can we take a moment to appreciate the detachable sleeves and ribbon detailing?!? @dreamdressesbypmn knocked this out of the park! Your inspo board consisted of mostly structured flowers - not a rose, dahlia or ranunculus to be seen In creating my recipe, I knew there’d be minimal fluffy and round flowers as you wanted to avoid a traditional bouquet look. I designed a bouquet using hand painted calla and anthurium and other structured blooms to complete your structural editorial composition. I wanted it to be perfect. Airy. Sculptural. Started over 5 times over the course of three days, then had to sit on my hands at 4 am the night before delivery because we can NEVER be done. We kept the stems long because that’s the beauty of a predominant calla lily bouquet. Trimmed slightly - I wanted it to look like they were gathered from the French floral market on the way to dinner. Hand tied and finished with soft flowy ribbon to perfectly juxtapose and balance out the structure.
