YEEVS – ‘The Borderline, Thereabouts’ Out Now 5 years in the making, ‘The Borderline, Thereabouts’ is out today! We started demoing together back in 2020, kicked off recording in 2021 right before the big lockdown in NSW, eventually got back to recording in 2022 and then got Tim Kevin on board who helped us further with additional engineering/overdubs and mixing in 2023. It can be hard to make things you care about and the longer the making goes on for, the more emotionally wrapped up you can become. It’s amazing but it can prove to be exhausting. This music means a lot to us and it feels like a culmination of influences, thoughts, feelings and ruminations. We’re really just relieved, proud and happy to have this album out in the ether. It has been a long time coming with lots of strange moments of percolation and trying new things to yield a different result. It’s the first album where all the material wasn’t born out of jamming, it’s the first album we wrote where the drum parts would come later and it’s the first album where we deconstructed how we recorded together. We couldn’t have made this album if not for Jake Nauta and @liamgordon__ and their engineering skills and support, @timkevin_temperiver for additional engineering and mixing and @fricknanklin for mastering. We want to thank @tomstephensau for his stellar photography, @scapiscefilmmaker for his wonderful work on our videos, @sirpetertheknight for starring in ‘No Plans To Change’ and also to @venedictosmancha for bringing the props. Special mention for our drummer/multi instrumentalist @t.h.bravo who did the artwork and has done so for all releases from when we started. This album was first recorded on the land of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples and later on the land of the Gadigal and Wangal peoples. We appreciate how privileged we really are to be able to create and make music together in amongst the chaos of the world. We can’t wait to celebrate tonight @lazythinking__ with @darcyforeverband and @tesseworld in tow. Will be slinging some vinyls and shirts tonight also. Should be a belter, much love Xx

A belated thank you to everyone who came down to @bvhnewtown the other night to see us rip through some 10 year old tunes. We felt the love in the room! Special thank you to @venedictosmancha who presented us with a collage photo frame (what a bloke!) So special to share this with @librarysiesta who played their 10 year old ‘Future Haunts’ record, it was such a treat to hear those songs again. Also special thank you to our old friend @marcus_index and his band for warming up proceedings. We will see you all again soon X

Dusting off the cobwebs and trying to remember how the songs end for next week. We’re roughly one month away from our show @bvhnewtown to celebrate our first release ‘How to Harken Back’ and the time in which it was released. While looking back at the old stuff, we thought we’d do the old heads a solid and put up our first three singles, ‘Speakin’ Some Sense’, ‘Chunk’ and ‘Lazy’ to stream for your listening pleasure. This came out 10 years ago! How To Harken Back was recorded at @audiledesign with @liamgordon__ wearing many hats of producing, mixing and mastering. Time really flies and these songs are some of our favourites to play live to this day. It was a blueprint of our band and what we became. Shout out to the OSO warehouse crew who really rallied behind us and gave us a place to play at their warehouse. We’re looking to hopefully celebrate this EP with a show later in the year but for now feel free to give it a spin Xx
