Carpeting and adding trim to the sliding door - this took ages to decide what and how to do it but in the end this was the easiest and most cost effective option. Satisfying to watch back ๐
The sound of installation! ๐
This is @yebbathevan cracking on with their Vunked electric installation โก๏ธ
Rather satisfying, donโt you think?! ๐คทโโ๏ธ

catching up on some van content : hereโs what our new seat setup looks like!
saved a bit of money by selling the old double passenger and buying another single driver seat, just need to switch the seatbelt over to the other side. bought some fresh seat covers from @vanpimps and made them look so new! we also installed swivel bases so we can swing the seats around and walk straight into our living area. super happy with the result for a fraction of the price of new seats ๐

part 2 of flooring complete ๐ฎโ๐จ all the way from rust treatment, to insulating and finally scribing the floor layout. a well earned tea break before part 3: rubber matting for the garage and vinyl sheeting for the cabin
rolling clouds and floor insulation โ๏ธ๐ช
we used @kingspaninsulationuk PIR boards between timber battens to strengthen and insulate our flooring. a whole load of sikaflex under the beams and slotting the squares into place, just the plywood floor and vinyl sheeting to go now!
VAN WINDOW INSTALLATION | the beautiful but terrifying, simple but rather difficult process of installing a window ๐ช the hardest part was actually glueing the glass to the van without any suction pads: lots of pivoting and even more delirium setting in around the 15 minute mark ๐
The scary first big cut ๐ช This one went smoothly thankfully! We measured for hours, practised some cuts with our @makitauk jigsaw on the inside of the square, tried to capture all the metal shards in a bin bag, used Sikaflex to attach the wooden frame to the roof, clamped it overnight and screwed the whole thing in the next day. Left the protective tape on it because itโs gotta look fresh when we finally take it for a spin ๐ Down the track we will order a @vunkedvans electrical setup to wire in the @maxxairvent fan and voila!
Maxx Air Fan install โ contrary to this video, the measuring was the most time consuming part ๐ turns out, cutting into a van is like cutting through butter ๐ง our first big cut complete!
SOUND PROOFING & BULKHEAD REMOVAL
We decided to open up the cab to create more light and free flowing space in our campervan design and plan to switch out the seats for swivel chairs.
1. Cutting up some closed cell foam for the roof of the cab to help soundproof and insulate the area
2. Probably the hardest part: reaching in and cutting pieces to awkward shapes, thank god for butyl tape
3. Wheel arches starting to turn our van into a spaceship ๐ธ
4. Getting on top of organisational skills thanks to YouTube
5. Now just to remember how it all goes back in
6. I think weโre seeking out things to clean at this stage. Itโs just so damn satisfying though ๐
7. Aaaand putting it all back together
8. Starting to take shape! Taping out our potential design to get a feel of it
