Dumplings quite literally take on a life of their own in Chloe Bennett’s @yeahyeahchloe artwork. The Korean-Australian artist’s work explores how our lives are intimately entwined with the objects around us by animating the inanimate—including dumplings.
“I love how they connect me to culture. Growing up as an adoptee, food has been such a huge way for me to connect to my birth country,” she tells @abovethefolddumplings . “The dumplings are little characters that embody our feelings and memories. I mean, really, I think we are just all little dumplings stumbling through life.”

A bit late but this was my last piece for 2025 for @abvgallery . Ironically the whole show was about looking on the bright side (which is comical for me at the best of times). It is however, a concept that has popped up every now and again over the last few weeks after being wrapped up by family and friends and strangers. The idea that perhaps we really are better together? I’m sure this brief moment of optimism will pass and I will return to the bitter old hag I have always been…fingers crossed.

As some of you guys might know my beautiful mum @joy.belles was diagnosed with cancer around the same time I found out I was pregnant. It was a shit. Joons is now just over 1 and my mums fight still continues - the fact she is still able to fight is largely thanks to the amazing work and support of her doctors and nurses and research that is funded by amazing fundraisers like the @materqld@womensdayfunrun
So this year we have signed up to the Woman’s Day Fun Run as ‘TEAM JOY’. If you know my family, outside of these circumstances, the fact we have all signed up to a fun run is very comical. But - we hope to raise a little bit of money for a cause so close to our hearts and to also stand in solidarity with our amazing mum who is fighting this bitch-ass cancer like the badass she is.
I have included a link in my bio if you would like to or have the means to contribute our family very much appreciate your support. Even sharing the link on your socials or just kind words and prayers mean the world ❤️
