The skirt was designed in Uganda from hand-dyed black sisal fibres, sewn onto a wrap base. Originally created for a studio setting, I altered and reinforced it so Monique could move through the red carpet safely without my supervision 🪡
We explored different variations during fittings, including stunning pieces by
@korlekie 💚 Ultimately the direction led us to a pared-down, graphic silhouette that aligned perfectly with the category: Cultural Superhero REALNESS 🖤
