Here at Yardies we are devastated that our beloved island home, Jamaica, has been torn apart by the recent hurricane. The wind howled through our hills, the rivers rose, and in a single night, so many families, friends and communities have lost everything — their homes, their farms, and in some cases, their hope.
For many of us, this isn’t just a story we saw on the news — these are our families, my family. Our parents’ homes, our children’s schools, the places where we used to laugh and gather — most gone or buried under mud and debris.
But Jamaicans - we are strong people!!
Now, here at YARDIES we’re coming together to help rebuild our communities, restore our livelihoods, and care for our communities, families and friends who have been left with little or nothing.
We have already started to prepare to send aid across to Jamaica to help with the inevitable shortages our people will face in the coming months.
Every act of kindness brings us closer to rebuilding the Jamaica we love. 🖤💛💚
