Tangleweed: immersive installation by artist Xtina Lamb, inspired by the underwater kelp forests that form a protective buffer to our coasts. 🌊
Created with scrap materials and repurposed plastic waste gathered from beaches on the Hoo Peninsula, the gentle drifting tangleweed and accompanying sounds of the estuary encourages you to think of the pollution and erosion of our shores as you explore the ‘underwater’ environment and see it glow with UV light. Or walk along the England Coast Path in search of your own ‘treasure’. 🐚
In the accompanying drop-in activity, create creatures or garlands of your own to add to the ever-growing glowing kelp forest. 🎨

The Wayzgoose returns on Saturday 29th November, and we’ll be welcoming everyone in for this annual gathering of printmakers and lovely print fair.
This year’s printmakers include @pejelinoprint , @megantheprintmaker , @annegoeselprints , @bob_and_bee_ , @jane_t_furst , @rosiejamestextileartist , @inksplatman , Corinna Goldsmith, @hazelnutpress , and @xtinalamb .
Come along to meet the printmakers at Intra Arts and see what we’ve been up to in the studio, browse hand printed cards, gifts and artworks (including lots of new work from the 20-20 print exchange at £10 each), print some badges or fridge magnets for yourself, have a go on our famous ridiculous 20p tombola – to win anything from a tin of strange vegetables to a print course day.
We’ll also be part of an arts trail, with an artist market very nearby at Chatham House, and also at the Wooden Mouse, and open studios with the Heart Of Rochester Art Studio taking place over the weekend.
Free entry, open 11am – 4pm, at Intra Arts, 337-341 Rochester High Street, ME1 1DA.
There is paid parking over the road or at Doust Way car park, 2 minutes walk away.

What an irregular treat to visit the @irregularsleeppattern studio in #Glasgow and see all their joyful colour combos in one go. I love this brand, and their efforts to make good choices to avoid waste and to give their clothing and products multiple uses. Look at these wonderful patterns. Yum! Expect to see me splashing PJ colour bombs across the Medway Towns soon.

Xtina is known as a printmaker but uses many different approaches to making art, including co-creation with communities. She is showing prints on paper, artists books, printed textiles, a glowing ‘kelp forest’ installation made of scrap plastic, and works in progress. Her studio is a densely packed cabinet of curiosities. Inspiration includes the natural world, mudlarking, pop culture and vintage ephemera.

Join your community for a creative celebration! Medway Plus invites you to a special egg decorating session at Intra Arts Studio on Wednesday, April 4th, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Led by Xtina Lamb, this event is a wonderful way to connect with others, learn a new skill, and express your creativity.
I loved making this immersive experience for @ideas.test and the finale event of Luton Lights at Invicta Social Club.
It began with enjoyable workshops with Luton Primary and library visitors - making creatures / garlands from plastic waste for this luminescent kelp forest inspired installation. And on the night, visitors made neon sticker creatures and took them for a swim through this glowing environment.
It was an amazing event, with projections on the building, street theatre performances, VR experiences, light installations, coming as a celebration after two weeks of mysterious illuminated deep sea creatures popping up in residential windows along Luton Road - more glow stickers made with me and stained glass effect artworks and animation with @hannahgracewhittaker .
Many thanks to @wendydawsart and Phoebe for ace workshop assistance, and to Wendy Ansley for helping everyone to navigate the ethereal underwater world.
