And for those looking to add a new string to their artistic bow, Hot Bed Press in Salford will be among the myriad collectives bringing their skills to Manchester Central, from etching to lino-cutting. An open-access print workshop based in Salford, running since 1994, they have a wealth of knowledge, expertise and equipment covering all aspects of print-making. At the Art Fair, Hot Bed Press will be hosting two screen-printing workshop sessions - one each day - as well as selling prints made by their artists during the print demos. What a lovely evening celebrating the life and art of Lisa Clare who we all miss greatly. So many amazing, funny and beautiful prints all around the workshop. Such a lot of people who came to see the work and maybe pick up a print. A testament to how well loved Lisa was and how much love and light she brought into all our lives. Hot Bed Press is proud to have been an important part of Lisa's life, and to see so many of her works up here in one go is to say the least emotional. There are hundreds of prints available... for a donation. All money raised will go towards supporting printmakers as a legacy of Lisa. We will be announcing some special residencies after June. Many thanks to Alex, Alison, Doug and everyone involved in putting on a wonderful show. There will be another evening at the end of the show on 22nd June where prints can be purchased by donation. (If there are any left. It's such a popular event.) Lisa would be proud, probably slightly embarrassed and just happy to see so many friends. I can almost hear her laughing and chatting away in the background. XXX

Join me at brilliant @hotbedpress print workshop in Salford and learn how to block print your own Textiles. This two-day course will teach you all the basics of lino cutting, before you put your new knowledge to the test by creating your own printing block. I’ll teach you different ways to repeat patterns using your print blocks to produce your own unique fabric designs. On day two, you’ll use your printed fabrics to create a 20cm lampshade and a small cushion for your home. All materials will be provided. Link in bio to find our more and book your place. Perfect for anyone interested in getting to know printmaking or anyone wanting to freshen up and bring new life to their drawing practice. Later in the month, Block Printed Textiles- 30th & 31st combines lino cutting, pattern, and fabric- ending with your own hand-printed lampshade and cushion for your home! All materials provided. We had so much fun at the Makers District Identity launch night last week! The turnout was amazing, thank you so much to everyone who came, the building was buzzing with atmosphere and it was amazing to see. Step inside the studio of the brilliant @tikypriadis 🤩 Our latest studio spotlight takes you to the first floor, where Tina’s vibrant colour led practice takes place. A screenprinter at heart, she also works across collagraph and other processes, always guided by a passion for colour theory. With a background in interior design, Tina brings a sharp eye for balance, layering and tone- exploring translucency and unexpected colour combinations throughout her work.
