I built an open source hexapod which only uses eight servos (instead of 18). It uses rack and pinions so the axis move in straight lines and we don't need to calculate any inverse-kinematics. Full video link in bio.

#ad The @LEGO Group sent me a bunch of the new LEGO Star Wars SMART Play sets to take a look at. The new SMART Bricks have lots of features packed into them, and they don’t use any screens or apps. The SMART Bricks charge wirelessly and power up when you shake them. The main functions are activated when SMART Tags or SMART Minifigures are placed near them, and the sounds are synthesized which means the same SMART Bricks can be used for other themes in the future.
