Saturday, December 9, 4pm, we’re celebrating the launch of our latest publication with an xtra special and xtra jolly live recording at the Cashmere radio studios ☃︎꙳   Our beautiful reader <<DANGEROUSLY FLEXIBLE>> is a compendium of texts conceived through encounters and exchanges during the two-year residency programme 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 facilitated by @kunstvereinmuenchen . Conceived in an abandoned farmhouse close to the quaint Ammersee, and published by a collaboratively organized art space with no fixed location, the reader situatedly tackles the topic of co-laboration.   We have invited contributors to the publication for on-air readings and are hoping you’ll join in to listen as the year comes to a close. Relating to archetypes of the dramatic world, it turns the inside of a theater outward, playfully rendering both the construction and deconstruction of imagination. DM for address ! 🥹💙 _____________________ The sound-performance LOVE IS IN THE MOUTH centers the production of affect and desire on the human voice and its mediation. In the spotlight stand femme nightlife singers and their relationship to queerness; those “house divas” who lent their voices to house music hits and underground anthems of the 1980s to 1990s, but subsequently disappeared in the shadow of (white) male music producers and the mainstream appropriation of house music. Their voices became objects – their spoken word and vocals remixed, sampled and re-imagined, becoming elements especially fundamental to the generating of affect in popular music. LOVE IS IN THE MOUTH re-visits those common places with situated expressivity, to make those vocalists (and our own voice) travel into further belongings. The performance takes place on April 29th, 6:30pm in the studio of the Berlin radio station Cashmere Radio for an on-site audience and simultaneously can be experienced as a live-broadcast for radio listeners who are physically not present.  Visuals by @fat_burning_tea 💜💙💜 Concept: Luis Garay Collaboration in research: Nikolas Brummer. This upcoming Saturday, March 4, starting 6:30pm, we’re hosting a live listening session of a new +X episode by London-based artist Frances Drayson. ~ Frances has invited contributors to send in audio clips related to grief and the frictions created by attempts at ordering and “making sense.” The audio received will be responded to in the adaptation and reading of Frances’ ongoing text piece “Retent”(2022-) performed by Tom Railton, JJ Chan, Sara Knowland and Frances. Farming processes, the figure of the private detective, the recollection of a walk and a natal chart reading are examples of attempted organisation heard over the course of the hour. With contributions by Kobby Adi, JJ Chan, Alias Conrad Coldwood, Melanie Counsell, Elliot Dodd, Georgia, DJ Gonz, Sara Knowland, Sophie Lee, Isabel Mallet, Tom Railton, Still House Plants, Lou Lou Sainsbury and Gabi Dao. ~ This will be our first event taking place at the Cashmere studios ever since the station’s move to a new location. On the occasion of tomorrows opening of ‘Venus in Scorpio’ at Open Forum, Berlin, opening February 11th, 2023, we wanna revisit our November episode: hosted by Lauryn Youden, while producing her upcoming solo exhibition, the radio show takes the concept of “Sick Architecture” as a point of departure. Inviting a selection of chronically ill artists, thinkers and creatives to think about the way spaces of care (in particular the home) are designed, produced and lived in through the lens of chronic illness and disability. The contributions of this radioshow were recorded during a live listening and reading session at Open Forum on October 30, 2022. AUDITORY TRACES You know the drill: tune in tmrw, Saturday 07/01, at 18:30 pm (Berlin time) for our first 2023 transmission zone on Cashmere Radio (@cashmere_radio ) ~ PlusX with DAF (@daf_adbk ) hosted by Bastian Zimmermann (@bastian.zimmermann ) ~~ DAF dedicates »auditory traces« to the process of rearranging collectively gathered field recordings — tracings of performances and interventions created during the last two years. The material was produced during shared meals in a former greek nightclub, at joint bicycle tours, or whilst exploring tunnels beneath Berlin. Different locations and settings coalesce without merging but by moving — a production from reception. In doing so, the DAF collective emphasizes a constructivist methodology, foregrounding social, material and energetic relations. Significantly, the piece derives from diverse spatial properties and contexts, such as Musikinstallationen Nürnberg (@musik_installationen_nuernberg ), Floating University Berlin (@floatinguniversity ), Kunsthalle Baden Baden (@kunsthallebadenbaden ) and Lenbachhaus München (@lenbachhaus ).

Join us this Saturday at 6pm for an in-person listening-occasion at @cashmere_radio with a piece by @lou__drago with an intro by @mahsasaloor — pm for info and address * ⛅️🌗⭐️ Lou Drago’s recent research solicits potential affinities between all of those who are oppressed under neoliberalism in an earnest attempt to inspire a renewed sense of collective imagination among a disaffected and fragmented Left. This 'Radical Sociability' could be described as a way of reimagining social relations outside of racial capitalism and identity-based logic for collective liberation. For this episode of Plus X, they have created a concise version of the audible material from their listening-occasion, Fragments for Affinity, that combines this more theoretical/experiential research with their ongoing sound and live-art practice. Drago uses the term 'listening-occasion' to describe their live-art format, the compound being inspired by friend and collaborator Isabel Lewis' concept of 'Occasions' and Pauline Oliveros' term 'deep-listening‘. Lou Drago is a Berlin-based multi-disciplinary artist who weaves connections between anti-racist-queer-feminisms, meditation, the healing potential of sound, and the necessity for collectivity and connectivity during neoliberal times. HOW ABOUT SOME FATE WORK 🌗 +X Publishing is delighted to introduce »Communist Dream: Glossary«, concocted by the non-collective björnsonova (@bjornsonova ). Unlike art collectives, which typically feature individual members creating collective artworks, björnsonova also includes people who are not there at the given moment. Anyone may join over the course of time, entering the creative process, being present, or staying in the background like a ghost, yet still being an integral part of the group. björnsonova is best characterized as a fluid permeable open group/platform. New episode by mma Kgosi (@blaqq_bear ) airing tonight, Saturday 15, at 6:30pm on @cashmere_radio Last Tuesday, within the context of the event series Siren Sightings, performance and voice artist mma Kgosi orchestrated a multimedia exploration of our +X archive. Through improvised video projections, song selections and experimental readings, mma Kgosi engaged with a collection of texts from our two previous publications; the texts our collaborators published through our website and texts collected in the context of our own research centred around how to structure PlusX.
