My heart is still very full from our 2nd Annual @beautyinbloomrunway Beauty Experience where we hosted a photoshoot and makeover day for 4 breast cancer survivors.
I have many things to say about this personal mile stone of mine but for now I just want to acknowledge how much growth can happen in 1 year. I led a production of over 30 people under my own organization 🤯 I’ve never felt more sure about my purpose and the journey that’s I’ve been on to get here. Thank you to everyone who has been volunteering their time and support. Join us in October 25th to celebrate these incredible woman, hear their stories and view the images from our shoot.

Life is a circus.
It’s time to steal the show 💫

gifted by LensDirect | I like to switch out my glasses often so I was excited to try a new frame 🤗 I’ve never ordered from @lensdirect but their website makes the process really easy. I was able to virtually try on the frames to make sure they fit my style. I love this shape and shade of brown! What do yall think? I just ran out of contacts so these came right on time. I might have to order my new contacts from their site too 👀

This weekend I hosted our first @beautyinbloomrunway event called Check Your Soil and it was everything that hoped it would be. This space was created for women to gather, check in with their mental/physical health and set intentions for the next season. I didn’t realize that the date aligned with the beginning of spring but the timing couldn’t have been more perfect 🌱
This experience was a a reminder that wellness starts with what we plant and how we tend to the soil in our hearts. Together we sowed seeds and every guest left with a fully-blossomed plant as reminder to care for themselves as they would a care for their plant 🪴
I couldn’t do this without the village! Thank you to the people that made it possible:
@ninaatwater for providing an intimate space for our gathering
@hashimoto_nursery for donating plants and pots
@matcha.n.magic for facilitating our planting workshop
@ardaughters for sharing their mission and resources for breast cancer prevention
@drinkdesoi for donating the most refreshing non-alcoholic cocktails 🍸
We have officially launched a GoFundMe for Beauty in Bloom 2026. Link in my bio to donate or visit GoFundMe.com/BeautyinBloom
THIS SATURDAY! Check Your Soil is an intimate, hands-on community gathering designed to help you reflect on the condition of your “soil” – your body, habits, support systems, and emotional wellness– to identify what shifts are needed to create fertile ground for growth. Free to attend – Donation suggested.
Guests will:
—Receive soil, a planter, and a small plant
—Reflect on their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness
—Write a personal “seed” (intention or action step)
—Plant it as a symbol of growth and commitment
Spaces are limited. RSVP link in our bio.
Belated birthday post ✨
February 8, 2026 | 28 was a year of transformation. 29 is the refining. When I felt lonely, God sent people to fill in the gaps. When I should’ve been depressed, I was strengthened. When I could’ve fallen back into old habits, I built discipline and self control. Even though the process is messy, for the first time in a long time I feel whole. The confidence that I had in my early 20’s is now aligning with the wisdom I’ve earned in my late 20’s. I’ve lived a very full life and I look forward to spending this year reflecting on how far I’ve come over the last decade. Ya girl is almost 30!! But for now I’m 29 and fine 💅🏾

I am excited to share that my latest documentary, Unfinished Legacy Project, will be screening this Saturday, January 10th at 5pm 🎞️
In 2024 I traveled to Chicago with @boogiedebeast to capture him complete three triathlons in roughly 24 hours in an effort to increase the visibility of Black athletes in endurance sports and aquatics. As someone who was introduced to the world of triathlons for the first time, working on this project was a totally new experience that challenged me both physically and creatively. I am always grateful to work on projects that amplify underrepresented stories and highlight diversity within Black culture. I’m so proud of this film!
We will also be screening my short narrative film, Reclaiming the Sea, one of the first film I wrote and directed independently 🥹 issa StephB double feature!!
Ticket purchases support the Legacy Aquatics Foundation, providing swim lessons for children and adults in our community. More in at the link in my bio: /LegacyAquatics
I had my first film screening at Cinemark!
This year I spent 6 months working with youth at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church teaching them the basics of filmmaking— development, screenwriting, producing and filming.
It’s was my first time creating a curriculum and leading a small production of students in LA who had never worked on a short film. The curriculum culminated with us shooting and premiering a faith based short film titled The Audible.
My journey as a filmmaker has been anything but linear but I can say that God has been leading my path in purpose. My first (of many) Cinemark screenings glorifies the Lord in service of youth and that is symbolic to me 🙏🏾
Thank you to @roseofsharonmbc for trusting me with this ministry and to all of my friends who supported along the way.
I built confidence in my early 20s by getting in front of the camera and taking self portraits. Somewhere along the journey that confidence was fractured. This year I decided to release the fear of being seen. I didn’t think I would end the year with a photo of myself on display at a photo exhibition but here we are 🤯
Shoutout to the photographer @leecreative__ who I’ve built such a meaningful relationship with this year. I’m excited to celebrate your work and I’m honored to be apart of it 🙏🏾
Support the exhibition hosted by @monadnyc this Thursday 8:30pm-10pm in the Fairfax district. It’s free to attend but you must RSVP. Link in my bio!
God knows what rooms you need to be in and he will orchestrate time, space and people to make sure you get to where he’s called you to be. Like Goapele says in one of my favorite songs EVER…I’m getting closer to my dreams 🥹
So much of this year has been about growth and pruning. Overcoming insecurities, building self worth and finding peace. It’s been a transformative year to say the least. The theme for the @femmeitforward Give Her Flowers gala couldn’t have been more timely. I’m reminded not to shrink myself and to go forth with boldness, confidence and courage.
Artistry is not just about the work that’s created but it’s about the lives that are changed in the process. And the process is not always pretty. It’s not always easy. But it’s necessary.
Hearing women like Ciara, Kehlani, Normani, Teyana and Nikki Taylor, Jhene Aiko and others talk about their evolution not only as artists but as whole women, wives and mothers is truly inspiring to me in this season of my life. I aspire to be a wife and a mother in addition to being a multifaceted artist and businesswoman and that’s not going to be easy but it’s possible. I’m on the right path.
Thank you for a seat at the table @colture_@aceanimichelle@femmeitforward and congrats @heatherlowery on another successful event 💐
