One of my holy grails of photography books is this one right here.
It features close to 300 photographs of the golden age of soul, R&B, and Funk from 1972-1982, all by one photographer, Bruce W Talamon.
He captured some of the greatest artists of our lifetime.
James Brown, Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Earth Wind & Fire, Bootsy, Stevie Wonder.
These moments are pivotal to black history, black culture, and black entertainment post civil rights era of the United States.
Every page is a masterpiece on its own.
There are even pages with a grain texture, pages in full color, black & white.
I grew up listening to Art Laboe almost every night.
Seeing everyone in these pages is like seeing my childhood all over again.
In the foreword, he talks about just how important it was for the artists to trust that you will capture them correctly. How fast he had to work to be able to catch such candid moments, and how present he had to be. I really respect his work.

I love books. This book New Age: Stonehenge to Jungle B2B 1973-2000 is full of rave flyers of past eras. The large prints really let you appreciate the scans in their entirety and give you a nice glimpse into raves, warehouse parties, and the underground before the digital age.
