Thirty years ago, Tammy Cohen founded CCR with a vision to build a boutique design firm dedicated to strengthening and connecting communities. Not long after, Karen Reynolds, Richard Carnaggio, and Roman Gary joined her, sharing that same vision.
As the firm has grown, we’ve remained committed to that mission. With Scott Burnett, Lissy Frese, Jacklyn Loquidis-Hamric, Brian DiRusso, and Mika Carpenter now a part of the partnership, with a collaborative team alongside them, we continue to work as a small, responsive firm providing unique, customized design solutions.
5 days, 4 girls, 4 parks, 3 birthdays, 2 resorts, 1 graduation, and I’m pretty sure we rode every single ride, used every transportation option offered including monorails, buses, skyliners, boats, and safari trucks, and ate and drank every single thing the parks had to offer.
Guardians of the Galaxy still remains my favorite ride but VERY closely followed by Tron. The new pirates bar The Beak and Barrel was fun but it doesn’t hold a candle to Oga’s Cantina. As a kid who grew up in Florida, I never got to experience the resorts and The Contemporary was always top of my list and it was as cool as I had hoped for. The Polynesian was also amazing and drinking by the pool after a long park day and then sitting on the beach watching Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show was the perfect way to end the trip.
I don’t think I could have squeezed one more thing into my birthday this year. What a lovely way to end the night with seeing Tripping Daisy at Saturn. They were everything I hoped for and more.
These two amazing women have made this last year of my life so much better. It’s been wonderful to have their friendship and support when I needed it most and today we celebrated my upcoming birthday with coffee, Magic City Art Connection, photobooth at Seasick Records, pickers shopping, and my long standing Fon Fon tradition. ❤️
Next week! Tuesday (4/28) I’ll be releasing three new Dree Leer songs that I’ve been sitting on for a year now. They are the last songs Jason and I got to work on together which makes them extra special to me and they definitely hit differently now that he’s gone, but I finally feel ready to share them with the world. Jason recorded & mixed them, and played guitar on the title track and Les Nuby played drums, bass and mastered them. I couldn’t have asked for a better pair of friends to help make this happen. 🖤
Davis Sedaris is one of my favorite writers and sitting in a room with so many people laughing for two hours straight is just what the soul needed. Thank you @jeff_w_nixon for this wonderful idea and getting to spend it with you and @jeff10312000 💜
One of my favorite things about having a radio station inside Saturn (besides everything) is that shows like this share a wall with the station and I can pop over and watch it while doing my show. ❤️ Lydia Lunch at Saturn.
Best Record Store Day yet. Thanks to @seasickrecords for always putting on a great day and letting me spin records yesterday morning at @lakeviewmarina.bham . Thanks to @djrahdu for letting me use his headphones and to @bartstephens for saving the day on a quick turntable fix (and photo bomb!) Loved having breakfast at @highdive.bham while getting to hear @jcampbell108 spin records in the park and getting to see @willlochamy and @nickdaviston with their new project and getting to see @thenuby on his birthday too. Loved grabbing an @onoicebham and an RSD special shirt from @yellowhammer_creative ! It was a full day of fun and catching up with friends.
