Jackie Lo here! Mark your calendars for 4.28 (my birthday). “Dead Alive” the new Dree Leer 3-song EP will be hitting your streaming services at the stroke of midnight.
These three songs were the last songs I worked on with my partner Jason Hamric who produced, recorded, and had just finished mixing them the month before his untimely death last year. Jason was the band’s manager and was integral in all my music and all of the Dree Leer material. You’ll get to hear some of his backup vocal ideas that tested my range and skill and get all of the fun guitar shreds he was famous for on the title track “Dead Alive”.
A huge shoutout and I’m so lucky that I got to work with @thenuby on this as well. His masterful drums and bass make the songs absolutely smash and he also stepped in to master this as well. Jason, Les, and I are so excited to share these tracks with you. This is the team that helped me with my very first solo album 15 years ago and seems poetic it was the last work we did together. 🖤

🪐 Saturn holds a special place in my heart and today they are celebrating their 10th Anniversary! 🧡 Brian and the whole crew there have always given Dree Leer a place to play and fun bills to open. My top favorite Dree Leer moments at Saturn in no particular order:
1. Played the very first DL show here under the parachute. 🪂
2. Played our album release party here
3. Got bombarded with panties on stage during our album release
4. Got to open for some of my favorites including Bully, Ex Hex, The Pauses, and Hurry Up to name a few!
5. All the amazing folks that came out to see us at these shows!

Back in 2011 I released the Jackie Lo solo album “Until I’m A Ghost”. Two people made my song ideas become a reality when I’d never been through the process of recording an album before. They were my partner in life and all things @therealjamric , who took this photo (cause of course he did 📷 he’s always the one behind the lens!) and @thenuby photographed here on drums. So, when it came time to start working on new material for Dree Leer I was stoked to work with this dream team again. Stay tuned! New EP is in the works and I’m loving it -Jackie Lo💥
Go vote! Had to break out my custom Chucks for the special occasion. When I wrote “You Too” there was an amalgamation of horrible people I was thinking of when I wrote it. Narcissistic, controlling, sniveling, insecure people. One of which that was first and foremost on my brain I’m happy to say I just voted against for the third time this morning. “Everyone knows you’re a lie. YOU TOO.”
