Every library is different. Just because someone finds success in one library doesn't mean you will get the same results. Here are some variables that can play a factor.
- Too many musicians doing your style of music
- You're not niching into their speciality
- Their splits may be unfavorable
- They may not have a lot of shows that use your sound
The list goes on, you want to study the catalog and be the go to person for your sound. It takes time, persistence and patience
I grew up without meeting my father, but one day I hope to. I’ve become more open about talking about this because it’s such a pivotal part of who I am today.
Came across a worksheet from 5th grade and realized ever since I was a kid, my goal was always to be a Dad.
Fortunately, I’ve been blessed with two amazing kids, and I talk about them every chance I get.
It’s funny - when I was younger, I thought being a great dad just meant being present.
But now that I have a 6 & 2 year old, I’ve realized it’s so much more than that.
Some who’ve grown up without meeting their biological parent(s) have this lingering dissonance of “Am I good enough?”—a sense of abandonment.
Some internalize it as rejection which I have at times, but for me, growing from this question has made me realize it’s just a way of being curious and hungry to grow as a human.
Not in an overly self-help, hyper-disciplined, militant way, but in a way where I’m sculpting the areas I believe are important to pass down to my children.
That includes my mental and physical health, who I am creatively, my discipline, how I treat my wife and the way I lead.
All things I’ve questioned myself about or had to grow from in my own life.
As I navigate these thoughts, there’s always going to be a desire to grow and answering that lingering question of my self worth.
But there's also space for grace and accepting who I am.
Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there, no matter how that role may look, you are appreciated
I woke up today having a planned post to put out about music. But the entire time I tried to record, in the back of my mind I can only think about the chaos that I had scrolled through earlier in the day.
It didnt feel right. Were so conditioned to ignore other people issues. I'm a firm believer of not falling into the traps of watching the news because a lot of it is a facade, but for the first time in history we're witnessing some of the traumatizing and disturbing times in peoples lives, and for some reason we scroll past or worse, negatively speak on peoples issues as if it doesn't matter.
It's a privilege to be able type this out, and record my thought process knowing I have the ability to do so. I pray for the peace in this world.
