As a graphic designer, most of Kristi’s work lives in the digital world, so pottery has become her way to create something tangible — pieces that can be held, used, and enjoyed every day. A true coffee lover, she naturally gravitates toward making mugs, and loves experimenting with different clays, textures, and colourful, layered glazes. @marstromceramics #contemporaryceramics #pottery #handmade #handmadeceramics #instapottery #potteryofinstagram #studiopotter #wheelthrown #clay #glaze #madeincanada #mugs #tableware #designermaker

Chris Bridge @cbxpottery describes his pieces as such “My current work mainly comprises wheel thrown pots with textured surfaces and rustic Shino glazes that break on edges and pool in crevices, creating contrast and depth the piece.” #handmadepottery #contemporaryceramic #clay #studiopotter #madeincanada #wheelthrown #vessels #instapottery #potteryofinstagram #handmade

Jane Hardin of @oklayceramics has always been fond of floral patterns in home textiles and ceramics. These speckled stoneware pieces are showing off pretty vintage floral patterns effectively blending new and old. On the other creative hand it’s all about vibrant bright colours in simple graphic designs.

@emiliecruisesavage uses a mix of hand building and wheel throwing, mainly inspired by the earth, movement, and dreams. Emilie decorates with a mix of underglaze and wax resist. Creating is therapeutic for her so her designs are usually thought of in the moment. Emilie’s favourite things to work on are bobble heads and vases. There’s so much character and variety that get created in both! #contemporaryceramics #pottery #studiopotter #handmade #handmadepottery #bobblehead #instapottery #potteryofinstagram #madeincanada #designermaker #emergingartist

Linda (@bineapplepun_ceramics ) has just started documenting their ceramic journey. Lately, she’s been passionate about creating vibrant and joyful pieces that embody a sense of play and childlike charm. For this reason, she especially leans toward experimentation and projects that combine multiple wheel-throwing and sculptural techniques. You can find her work at our upcoming holiday market on Saturday, Nov 29 with a hodgepodge of their most recent creations: including flower jars, mini-vases, pigeon figurines, raku-fired trophies, and more.

@cbmceramics has spent the second half of the year working on a series of hand sculptures. Some prop up propagating plants, some hold jewelry, and, well, her Handlestick Holders are pretty self-explanatory. Her unique Handlestick Holders will be available for purchase at our upcoming holiday market!

“Still in my deep experimental phase, I am exploring different forms, colours, textures and moods, which is why you can see some very happy and quirky pieces, alongside some darker and moodier forms. It’ll be quite hard to predict what my next hyper-fixation is next!” JESSICA YAU @_jess.makes

Jody Orsborn Medina @jodyorsborn is inspired by folk art, tattoo art, and bold, rich color palettes (with a soft spot for blues, greens, and corals). She gravitates toward hand-drawn patterns, vibrant glazes, and the perfectly imperfect nature of handmade pieces. Lately, she’s been diving into ceramic rings and will have a range of sizes and styles available at the upcoming market. Come snag a little handmade goodness for yourself or someone you love 💪💅 Saturday November 29th @societyclubhouse

@kat_sung has been focusing on colour and patterns in her latest work, applying grids to replicate a quilt-like pattern to vases and mugs. She also enjoys incorporating sculptural elements to wheel-thrown pieces to add a sense of whimsy. Sustainability is one of the primary values in her practice and sources most clay from reclaimed stoneware trimmings and discarded student pieces. Her work will be available at our upcoming holiday market at @societyclubhouse on Saturday, November 29th from 10am - 5pm đź’«

@handcraftedbylmfriesen describes her inspiration for these mugs - As a dog walker, and nature lover, these mugs are inspired by my walks through High Park and the delightful variety of wild life. Linda prefers working with Porcelain due to its refined elegant nature. Porcelain does not contain the grogginess found in both Earthenware and Stoneware thus glazes often appear glossier and brighter. Linda often layer glazes to create dynamic finishes with drips and flows.
