It was a great honor to have worked with
@wmagchina for an exclusive shoot with Chu Tien-wen,Taiwanese writer and screenwriter who has long collaborated with the famous director Hou Hsiao-hsien. A City of Sadness, Millennium Mambo, Flowers of Shanghai, and The Assassin, all of these films that she wrote have inspired me for years—and this is her first, or perhaps her last magazine photo shoot.
When Chu Tien-wen once visited an old friend abroad, she was given a book inscribed with a single line: “Life is all parting.” Life moves through one stage after another. Director Hou Hsiao-hsien is preparing to retire, to step ashore, while we continue along the long river of time. And time moves on, sometimes in a gentle flow, sometimes in a rushing surge, and the destination it ultimately reaches may not matter all that much. What matters is that everyone who has traveled together through life—whether in the past or still in the present—has once gazed upon one another, like clouds and moon meeting across the sky.”
云在青山月在天- 时间或汩汩或滔滔向前,到达怎样的终点或许并不重要,生命里所有同行过的人,曾经或仍在彼此如云如月般相望,便足够了。
