For more than 50 years, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting has helped support public radio and television stations across the country, and its impact on what you hear and see on WFIU and WTIU has been profound. The loss of CPB marks a significant shift for the public media system, but it does not mark an end to our work.
Despite our shifting media landscape, WFIU and WTIU remain focused on serving our community by producing local documentaries, inspiring music programming, reporting on the news that matters in our region, and bringing you the @npr and @pbs programming you value.

Indiana Public Media and WFIU/WTIU announced layoffs of four full-time staff and 14 part-timers today, the latest cuts in public media after state and federal governments ended funding.
The full-time layoffs came in marketing, television production and engineering.

Through the perspectives of tour guides, homeowners, and local activists, #NATCHEZ explores the delicate balance between preserving history and confronting uncomfortable truths.
Some see the #antebellum homes as a source of pride and a vital part of Natchez’s heritage. Others argue that romanticized tours obscure the realities of slavery.
Visitors come for beauty, but the residents are forced to wrestle with history, challenging the narratives that have long shaped the way the South is remembered.

IU’s men’s basketball team will represent the United States at the fourth International University Sports Federation America Games in Lima, Peru, from July 20-Aug. 1.
The FISU America Games is a continental university-level athletic competition between schools from North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
IU coach Darian DeVries spoke Thursday on rebuilding the team’s roster through the transfer portal. He described the Peru trip as an opportunity to develop cohesion on a roster filled with transfers and freshmen.
