In recent years, Asia’s dance scene has been heating up. Among them, an extraordinary movement has emerged from Da Nang, Vietnam — a city gaining global attention as a resort destination. It is an underground culture that began in 2020, with DJ BAR GATOSANO, relocated from Ura-Harajuku, as its epicenter, in a city where there had previously been no real foundation for dance music. As Japan and Vietnam, urban and local sensibilities, club culture and an oriental aesthetic intersect, it has cultivated a new form of party culture that cannot be confined within any existing context. By inviting numerous artists from Japan and blending with local youth, it continues to renew a unique excitement that could only have been born in Da Nang. Last year, JAPONISM took over SAVAGE in Hanoi and WOMB in Tokyo, before returning to its home base in Da Nang to stage a three-day festival using an entire hotel as its venue. This year, that vibe expands even further, evolving into a party tour that connects Tokyo to Nasu. For this edition, JAPONISM summons ItsmeNz and LE JAMES, two young hopes leading Vietnam’s underground scene. It will be a night that captures the very moment when local scenes across Asia begin to resonate with one another and communities start to take on new contours. The Tokyo edition will be held at CLUB ENTER as a pre-party for the JAPONISM Nasu round. The lineup features michika, WAKA XINXI, Rick shinmi, and MUSCLE ∞ BROTHERS — all embodying Tokyo’s youth culture — alongside YUTA and DJ FUMI, who have long shared a deep connection with JAPONISM. The impulse that first blossomed in Da Nang will create a new crossroads in the Tokyo night.
