Sometimes you just need some downtime. I’ve been working so hard the past few years I’ve forgotten how to forget and be in the moment. A few weeks ago I had a free afternoon, the sun was shining and I just thought f*** it, let’s go to the beach. And so we did. Afterwards, I felt refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to write.

Over the past 3 weeks we have been working in partnership with Middlesbrough Council to deliver a range of art provision to work with and consult on the educational needs of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Middlesbrough.
The purpose of these workshops (that have been delivered within the Middlesbrough Family Hubs, Middlesbrough College and in Alternative Provision settings) has been to listen to the voice of young people and creatively capture their thoughts and feelings about their educational journeys.
This work will identity learning for an official government policy document (a White Paper) that outlines proposals for future legislation, strategy, or significant changes to law. It serves as a basis for consultation and outline firm plans for positive change.
A brilliant (and very busy) last few weeks and only made possible because of our amazing Team of talented and creative arts practitioners.
