Meet Anas Ahmed, Valedictorian, and Everardo Guzman, Salutatorian of
@wright_college ’s #ClassOf2026 — two future engineers committed to building stronger communities through leadership, service, and innovation.
Anas brought clarity and determination to Wright as a first‑generation college student pursuing civil engineering. As a student in the School of Engineering, he paired academic excellence with service, helping strengthen the campus engineering community through involvement with the Society of Civil Engineers, Engineers Week activities, and student engagement initiatives. Serving as an engineering assistant in the Dean’s Office and earning an internship with the Northern Moraine Wastewater Reclamation District, Anas has grounded his studies in real‑world impact as he prepares to continue toward a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Everardo’s journey was shaped by family, sacrifice, and long‑term vision. Inspired by his father’s work as a mechanic and driven by a dream of attending the University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign, he committed to Wright’s Engineering Pathways program despite a daily commute from the South Side of Chicago. A first‑generation student and dedicated leader, Everardo immersed himself in ASME and SHPE, rising to leadership positions at both Wright College and across City Colleges of Chicago. Through tutoring, mentorship, and industry connections, he focused on creating access and opportunity for others, while earning his acceptance into UIUC’s Grainger College of Engineering.
Congratulations to two graduates whose stories reflect the strength, promise, and purpose of Wilbur Wright College. 🩵 🌟 🎓 #GradCCC Meet all of the 2026 Vals & Sals: https://graduation.ccc.edu/top-students/
