Incredible Sunday spent renovating the pond in Nunhead Cemetery! Removal of lots of brambles and Iris that had gotten out of control as well as removing much of the silt that had built up over 30 years.
The amount of clay there is was quite incredible! We used the removed earth to level the ground outside the pond while removing trees and more brambles to create dead hedging and hopefully a space in the near future for educational purposes, local schools etc.
If you live in south London I recommend checking out @froglifers as they are currently on a mission to build 100 ponds to support amphibians and reptiles and have plans to do so at my school next April.
Spent the day with Lara who set up @skoolbeanz and @charles_dowding , filming for one of her children’s clubs!
