I spent the best time soaking up the workshops and just completely nerding out about plants/soil science with some of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. The whole culture there was just so vibrant and welcoming
it’s rare to find a space that feels that inclusive and high-energy all at once.
Of course, WormFolk couldn’t leave empty-handed. Let’s just say our “plant family” grew significantly today... we added a lot of carnivorous plants to the collection! 🦟🚫 My inner swamp-parent is very, very happy.

At a time when teachers and parents struggle to compete for kids’ attention, these images speak volumes about the value of Land + Sky’s educational programs.
Over 700 students signed up for 2 hour visits over 5 days. Students had 1 hour with our regenerative soils expert @worm.folk and 1 hour of multi sensory art activities with art instructors from @vitaartcenter , @santapaulaartmuseum and @artbus805 .
@robinthewallace designed a curriculum connecting kids to art through place, place through purpose, and purpose through history and science.
It was an absolute joy to see how much the kids enjoyed being outdoors, making hands on discoveries and then their own creations.

So grateful for the opportunity to serve as a Visiting Educator at the Land + Sky Artist Invitational!
This event is a fantastic convergence of creativity and cultivation, hosted in the beautiful landscape of Rancho Santa Clara Del Norte in Ventura County.
I led workshops delving into the vital foundation of all life: soil science. 🔬
We focused specifically on soil structure, the physical organization of soil, and its role in healthy ecosystems.
Participants learned to read the land on a deeper, scientific level, and we even got hands-on crafting our own bio-fertilizers, effectively transforming farm waste into potent, natural resources.

The future is in the soil, and it’s beautiful. 🌻 I’m thrilled to be with @land.and.sky.art all week, sharing the magic of soil science and regenerative agriculture with the next generation!
I’m diving deep into soil structure and the life-giving connection between its organic and inorganic components; teaching foundational knowledge to after-school groups, field trips, and homeschoolers. We are truly building knowledge from the ground up.
But this is more than just a class! This whole effort culminates in a full-on creative project. Furthermore, adding to the weekend:

Summer has been soft and kind this year
