Supporting teachers and school leaders through all paths to parenthood is essential. Fertility, baby loss, IVF, adoption and surrogacy are all part of creating sustainable school cultures and inclusive workforces. Across education, there are schools and trusts already beginning to take meaningful steps in this space through more compassionate policies, supportive leadership and open professional conversations. Workforce wellbeing is not separate from recruitment, retention and long term culture. It is also not separate from ensuring that students receive the highest quality of education. These conversations matter. Not quietly behind closed doors, but openly, compassionately and above all, professionally. Thriving teachers build thriving schools. #Education #SchoolLeadership #TeacherWellbeing #Fertility #IVF

Why is fertility treatment still so unsupported in the workplace? Caroline Biddle is a PhD researcher exploring barriers to line managers supporting women through fertility treatment, as well as Co-Founder of One Full Round for Teachers and Director of Working Through Fertility. Her research is shaped by her own experience, where she saw firsthand the lack of workplace support and legal protection for those undergoing treatment. She highlights that many managers want to help, but often don’t have the knowledge or tools to do so effectively. By improving workplace policies and support systems, her goal is to create more inclusive environments where women don’t have to choose between their careers and fertility treatment. 📌 Part of the Meet the Researcher series, highlighting the people behind women’s health research. 👉 Follow for more 👉 Tag someone who should see this 💬 Do you think workplaces are doing enough to support fertility treatment? #fertility #fertilitysupport #workplace #workplaceproblems #policy

A great start to the week spending Monday at Westminster for a Menopause in the Workplace event celebrating International Women’s Day. Hosted by Menopause Mandate and @wellbeingofwomen the room was packed with women who are driving change for menopause in the workplace. So encouraging to see the growing momentum behind improving menopause support at work. The conversation is only just getting started. The message on the day was clear. Where managers aren’t trained, women leave.

Really pleased to share I’ve been shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘PhD Student Achievement of the Year’ award at the Educate North Awards (ENA) 2026. Undertaking a PhD at The Manchester Metropolitan University has been one of the most rewarding experiences. Researching fertility in the workplace allows me to (to use a phrase I heard yesterday) ‘send the lift back down for others’. A big thank you to my incredible supervisory team Carol Atkinson, @drkryswilkinson and Dr Anneke Schaefer for their continued support, and guidance throughout my PhD. It’s such a privilege to have them on my team ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recording something special this afternoon — we’re heading onto @fertilitypoddy to talk all things One Full Round, fertility and teaching, and why this campaign matters so much to us. Excited, slightly nervous, and very aware of how important these conversations are. #onefullround #keepingwomeninteaching #KWITconference #fertilityissues

We had a VERY exciting day today, venturing into London to meet Alice Macdonald’s Team to discuss the fertility workplace pledge and @onefullround - making it clear that Teachers must be a priority when considering fertility leave as a legal requirement. So many more exciting things to come now and we are so grateful that we were able to have our voices heard and our work endorsed. This is just the beginning. *edit* - the 2023 study was actually published originally in 2011. #onefullround #infertileteacher #fundfertilityleave #onefullroundforteachers
