I truly can’t think more appropriate releases to encapsulate the label’s mission to release expansive, genre-challenging art than these last two releases by The Silver and Yellow Eyes. Copies of The Silver will be en route to Evil Greed in Europe this week on both color variants. Alongside the blue vinyl repress of Yellow Eyes Confusion Gate 2xLPs.
Furthermore, this day has come at last, after 6 years of planning and scheduling. This is the final Gilead Media release of new music. From here on out it will all be reissues and represses as needed. We will keep working on getting those beloved records out there as there is demand for them, and the repress list will keep us busy enough to make me still feel deeply connected to the art. But today we officially shift into maintenance mode and I start tying up tons of other loose ends behind the scenes and continue to shift more of my focus on running my record stores,

I’m eternally grateful for everyone that has loved this music as much as I have over the last 21 years. But this is a good thing. The levels of stress caused by this work take their toll. And even though I treasure the friendships and connections I’ve made with all the artists and supporters, I still feel as though a great weight has been lifted off my chest and I can take a deep breath for the first time in over a decade. I need to be able to focus that energy on my health for the future. I’m 43 this year and that means Gilead Media will have existed for over half my life at this point.
