We are looking forward to welcoming

with 🎶 Agrippina’s Betrayal
đź“… Sunday 1 March 2026
⏰ 3.30–5.30pm
📍 The Old Bishop’s Palace, Worcester (WR1 2JD)
Join The Hampstead Collective for an evocative afternoon of Baroque music exploring power, betrayal and personal tragedy.
Centred on Handel’s gripping 1707 cantata Agrippina a condotta a morire, the programme gives voice to Agrippina herself, offering an intimate and dramatic portrayal of her fate. Handel later expanded this story into a full-scale opera, but this earlier cantata remains distinctive for its intense focus on Agrippina’s inner world.
The programme is enriched by works from Handel’s German predecessors — Kuhnau, Schütz and Buxtehude — providing insight into earlier Lutheran perspectives on suffering, faith and human struggle.
