This week was surreal, and I still can't believe we're turning this warehouse into our new home! Kyle and I, like most people, have driven by this magical and very mysterious space for years. And while Detroit has so many beautiful buildings, this one has always been a fan favorite! And I'm low key starting to feel that we manifested that one day this place will be ours because we didn't seek it out. It actually came to us from a hot tip from our realtor, which, if you didn't know, you gotta love an off-market deallllll So stay tuned because the work of clearing out this dreamy space has already begun! Interior tour of our #mysteryonmack up next!

Mornings at #mysteryonmack I’ve always been a morning person, but since moving into the warehouse I’ve really fallen in love with creating time for me and it involves watching the sunrise. Standing completely still, barefoot in the grass, taking in the quiet moment of waking up with nature and with Detroit. I figured why not share it with you all and maybe inspire someone to take 10 minutes for themselves at 5:30 am haha. That fresh air might just be the thing you were missing… who knows? Try it and maybe thank me later.

Ready for Phase 2 anyone? When we first bought the warehouse, iconically and ironically titled #MysteryOnMack, we truly had no idea where this renovation would take us. And honestly, if you’re from Detroit and know the east side, then you know the name really isn’t much of a mystery at all. Failure was never really the question. Finishing it though? Yeah… that part felt a little less certain. The greatest thing about being designers and artists is having vision, grit, and the ability to see potential where most people don’t. The worst part? We have a million ideas, a million projects, and somehow never enough time. But somehow, piece by piece, we turned this 4,000 sq ft Art Deco warehouse into our home. Phase 1, aka the first floor, is mostly done. Minus a few lingering projects because let’s be honest… are creative people ever truly finished with their spaces? But now it’s time for Phase 2. The second floor. And if I’m being real… I’m VERY excited about this next chapter. Timelines? Ha. Let’s just say we’re probably entering our 2026 into 2027 era with this one… and honestly? I’ll take it. Which space are you most excited to see the transformation first!?!#

A moment where we dared to be a little more bold and a friendly reminder it's always worth trusting in the process. This primary bathroom suite was one of the spaces we designed as part of a full home restoration in Ferndale, Michigan. We luckily had enough remnants from the kitchen countertops to carry this incredible stone into the bathroom, and honestly, it feels like it was always meant to live here alongside the custom white oak cabinetry we built in house. The brief from our clients was simple: “a vibe.” A place to escape. A space where the outside world doesn’t exist for a little while. And between you and me… I really think every home deserves at least one space where peace is the only thing allowed. If you’re looking for an interior designer for your home or renovation project, we’re currently taking on projects for late summer and beyond. Whether you’re renovating, furnishing, or honestly just don’t know where to start, let’s chat and see if we’re the right fit for your space. 📸 @gerardbelevender

A design with us vs without us. I can’t help but reminisce on the transformation of this primary bathroom that we’re wrapping up this week! I’m selfishly saving the reveal of the custom marble mirror, but more than happy to share this double-headed, marble remnant trimmed shower. Ekkk someone pinch me because how is this not a dream?

When two Detroit icons join forces, it’s pretty amazing to witness. The unveiling of the @ford x @carhartt collaboration on the F-250 Super Duty is a reminder of just how innovative, community-oriented, and iconic the city of Detroit truly is. Built on grit, hard work, and legacy... and it feels like there’s so much more to come. #unsungheros #Ford_Ambassador #detroitmichigan

Fun fact: there will always be “stuff” on my countertops and I’ll never pretend my home is perfectly photoshoot ready. Because for me, home is where life actually happens. Sometimes it’s messy, sometimes there’s clutter, but honestly… that’s proof of life. It means this space is being cooked in, gathered in, worked in, and fully lived in. So here’s a little snapshot of our kitchen in the #MysteryOnMack project , dusk vs dawn. Same kitchen, different mood, different light, different type of clutter.

Lately in our furniture showroom, there's been a lot of moments where I've had to take a step back and appreciate how grateful am to own a store in Detroit but most importantly, to fill with unique pieces that help you create a home that actually feels like you. You all know forever love anything with texture, and lately we've been bringing in some really beautiful marble pieces, coffee tables, side tables, and designs made from marble remnants that feel more like functional art than furniture. So yeah.. I'm working this weekend. Pop by the showroom and see them for yourself. Woodward Throwbacks Showroom Hours Wednesday - Saturday | 10 AM - 4 PM Sundays | noon - 4PM

Listen… when I tell you we’ve been busy at Woodward Throwbacks, we mean BUSY. We packed a 30 ft container to the brim with vintage, antiques, salvage, and one-of-a-kind finds from Texas and beyond… all headed back to Detroit. This is hands down one of our biggest hauls yet, and now you get to see the behind the scenes of unloading it all into our showroom. From massive furniture pieces to crates of hardware and unexpected gems, this one was wild. The latest YouTube video just premiered, and trust us… you’re going to want to see what was hiding in this container. Make sure to watch, like, and subscribe for more behind-the-scenes sourcing trips, vintage finds, and design projects. See you at the showroom. What does it truly take to turn a house or warehouse into a home? Simple. A little blood, sweat, and tears, but most importantly creativity and the willingness to make your dream a reality. #MysteryOnMack was a project we first introduced you to over 3 years ago, which honestly feels kind of wild to say out loud. Looking back at these photos from the very first day we walked through this warehouse compared to where we are now feels pretty surreal. We’ve gotten so many questions asking for updates on the project and if I’m being completely real, we took a step back for a while. Partly because yes… renovating a space like this is expensive. But more importantly, we just wanted to enjoy it. To live in it. To slow down and appreciate everything we had already created before jumping into the next phase. But now… we’re starting back up again. Some projects are old, some are brand new, like the landscaping we started last summer and are finally diving back into. And in between client projects, which we’re incredibly grateful for, we’ll be squeezing in more #MysteryOnMack renovations all summer long. So get ready. It’s going to be a wild one. And if you’re new here, welcome. You can go all the way back to day one and follow the full journey on our YouTube channel where we documented everything from the very beginning to where we are now.
