Looking back, it’s crazy to think how much fun we had and how much we accomplished in 2025. Traveled the globe from LA to London to Tokyo, with countless concerts and shows, rehearsals, screenings…
Lost some people, gained some friends, supported those who matter most.
This world is filled with some bullshit but we are determined to make it a place where our kids and others can thrive. The only way through is through. Stay woke, neighbors creeping.
That’s a wrap on Star Wars Celebration Japan from the @collider studio (with @ScreenRant and @cbrofficialpage , of course). Wouldn’t be possible without all of the hard work from this team.
Got to meet some incredibly talented people, behind the scenes and in front of the camera, who have helped make some amazing stories in the @starwars galaxy.
Sigourney Weaver made fun of my lightsabers, Jon Favreau and I talked about his forgotten comedy classic PCU, I shook hands with the Chosen One, and held space for the legendary Kathleen Kennedy.
Thanks to our friends at @disney for making this happen. What an experience, and an epic reminder of why I love this game.
So proud of these people for putting on one of the best shows I’ve seen. The artistry and care that everyone, cast and crew, brought to Children of Eden was impressive. Seany got to show off her wonderful talents and did so with aplomb every single night, sore joints be damned. Holt, Darcy, and Adam, thanks for everything and letting me be a part of this group. It was beautiful to watch it come together!
We’re prepping for awards seasons and the Oscars over at @collider and I’ve seen A TON of great movies in 2025. So I wanted to share some thoughts on the things that stood out for my friends and family who often ask what I’m watching and what I’m into lately.
To me, Bugonia and Hamnet are the two best movies of the year and it’s not close. Bugonia is definitely more of a “that’s my shit” kind of movie, but Hamnet left me and the entire theater in tears after it broke us down and built us back up.
Jessie Buckley is likely going to win Best Actress, but Rose Byrne is equally deserving for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, which might be the most relatable movie for any parent who is Just Going Through It.
Sinners, Weapons, One Battle After Another, Eddington were all great. I think they’re all deserving of whatever recognition they get, but I wouldn’t vote them for Best Picture.
Sentimental Value and No Other Choice are wonderful international features and I encourage everyone to watch them as soon as possible. Both have some of the best ending scenes of any movie and rival both Bugonia and Hamnet for their effectiveness.
It was also a great year for comedy and blockbusters. I probably had more fun at theaters watching Friendship, Naked Gun, Predator: Badlands, Wake Up Dead Man, Phoenician Scheme, and 28 Years Later than I have at most movies in previous years.
Basically, it was a great year for movies. Except for After the Hunt, that one can fuck off.
WHAT A WEEK! From firenados in Nashville to a cemetery in Los Angeles, no stone was left unturned.
Started the week going to the red carpet of 9-1-1 Nashville where I got to kick it with some national treasures and local legends (especially my new BFFs @shannonleighkeenan and SI SE PUEDE @camilleguaty ).
Then it was off to Los Angeles with @seanyyjoy to see her favorite band @theformat reunite after nearly two decades. Got some good hang time with the sibs Russ and T-Rac, ate too much sushi at Sugarfish, and had very quintessential LA experiences.
Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the Dodgers eliminated the Phillies, sang “hey ya” karaoke at a Star Wars bar, went to TWO different Vampires bars (thank you @petermiracles ), Santa Monica beach, Amoeba Music, the goddamn Academy Museum and the Jaws exhibit, and I went to that giant ass telescope that’s also in Grand Theft Auto 5.
My only regret is not getting that Simpsons tattoo from that artist in one of the vampire bars we went to.
September was insane — 7 concerts, 5 venues, with one of the coolest interviews I’ve ever done and a quick work trip to London stuffed in there.
Got to see too many punk shows with @jimviscardi and @cyclopswasleft (and even met guitar sci-fi god Claudio himself). Starting Line, Coheed, Taking Back Sunday, Cartel (no, it’s not 2005) and the always excellent @winonafighter and @thebeachesband .
But seeing Rilo Kiley reunite once again has to be the peak of the mountain. They are just so effortlessly cool and I really hope this is a new beginning for them to do something special.
Quick jaunt to London where I got to hang with pals @ckcomedy and @emmakielyy1 and see some dinosaur bones. Can’t fail to mention I was on set for friggin Star Wars filming.
Wrapped up the month with @seanyyjoy ’s birthday, when she took Nate to see John Mayer at the music festival (we gotta raise him right and prepare him for life as a festival rat, as is his parents’ custom).
And somewhere in that, I interviewed James Cameron.
A goddamn crazy month.
Can’t say ANYTHING yet except that Disney and Lucasfilm invited me out to the London set of @starwars AHSOKA Season 2 and it was epic!
Stay locked in at @collider for more info soon, but for now… this Jedi is sworn to secrecy.
